Got a fill and lost restriction!

Recommended Posts

DENISE AND READY TO LOSE , GLAD TO HEAR THAT YOU'RE FILLS WENT OK , NO LEAKS, ETC. I CAN'T WAIT FOR MINE ON WED. I HAVE DEFINATELY LOST A LOT OF RESTRICTION. I TOOK 2 OF MY DD'S TO A HORSE RIDING RETREAT OVER THE WEEK-END AND GAINED BACK 2 LBS FROM ALL OF THE food I WAS ABLE TO CONSUME !:Banane20: I STILL HAVE SOME RESTRICTION JUST FROM THE BAND BEING THERE, BUT I ATE ALMOST AS MUCH AS THE OTHERS THERE, JUST NO bread OR MUFFINS, MOSTLY meat AND VEGGIES. MAYBE I GAINED MUSCLE FROM RIDING THE HORSES SO MUCH - YEAH, RIGHT ! LOL !:) WISHFUL THINKING !

HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE .:Banane20:

I am relieved to hear that others are having the same experience. I received my 2nd fill on 9/10 and I feel as though I am not restricted at all. I am little down about it because I remain in bandster hell with hope that I will get better results the next time. I keep losing and gaining the same 4 pounds. What a drag!!:cry

I had to go in and get some taken out. I was throwing up in

my sleep. It was horrible. But at least when he pulled it

out, I found out that all of it was there, so I don't have

a leak. I lost 6 lbs in 3 days after being on a long plateau,

but I don't recommend being overfilled to anyone.

It was so horrible. I felt like I had an elephant sitting on

my stomach. At night, I would wake up with Water in my

mouth feeling like I was drowning.

It such a fine line having the right fill.

Well , I went in for my 5th fill yesterday and told the Dr. I had lost most of my restriction. He didn't think much about it and said he was just going to add a little since I'm already half filled. When he was injecting , he took a while and wouldn't say much. Finally he said he wasn't able to get hardly any Fluid drawn back out. Certainly not the amount I was supposed to have in it. He said he's never had a band leak. He said to wait a week to see if I get any restriction from this fill. If not , I go back in and he's gonna fill it all of the way and see what happens. I am feeling some restriction this a.m. after eating a little Breakfast. I am wondering if sometimes the fluid might squirt out when they with-draw the needle from the port. On my 4th fill , he really had to tug to get the needle out, and that's when the restriction left. Let's keep our fingers crossed that that's what happened and not a leak. I really don't want surgery again , but I would definately do it to keep the band !

I think it is possible for them to lost contact with the port or something.

That's exactly what happened to me. I went for a fill and I could tell

immediately the next day that something must have gone wrong. I had

no restriction at all. The doctor thought I had a leak and put extra in the

next time. I didn't have a leak, and I was miserable. I went back in

3 days for an unfill and he took out all that he had put in there, so

it showed I didn't have a leak. I was relieved.

I am still not recovered from being too full. Being overfilled is no fun.I

have been on liquids ever since, to let my tummy rest.

But- the best thing that came out of it was that I lost 7 lbs after a huge

plateau. I was able to eat a little bit of very thinned down oatmeal today,

and some cottage cheese. So, things are improving.

Well, its official...........My body likes its fat and wants to hold on to it!!!!!!!!! Just over 1 week out of my fill (bring me to 2.3cc's) and I haven't lost 1 oz.

Boy am I getting frustrated!!! June was the last time I saw the scale move. (not even losing inches)

Feeling like screaming:angry

Sorry, I guess I should have put this in the 'venting' section.

Denise , I hope by now your feeling better and able to get back to regular foods.

Ready to lose - I can relate . I've not lost in the past month and a half and it's really frustrating when I was losing about 10 lbs. a month.

I need some advice w/ my situation. I feel a little restriction in the a.m. from the small fill I got this week. The Dr. told me to come back this week if I felt no restriction and he would fill me all the way up to check for leaking. Soooo , I'm not sure what to do. Since I feel tiny restriction , do I call to go in for a little more fill , a full fill , or wait until next month. I'm afraid if he fills me all the way and I'm not leaking I'll be miserable since I had really good restriction being only 1/2 full, and will need an unfill. But what if I do have a leak and put it off until next month ? ARRGH !!!!:car: I teach jr. high music and have to take at least 1/2 a day off since my Dr. is 2 hours away. I have plenty of sick days , but I really hate to miss work cause the kids go nuts w/ a sub. Plus , if I am leaking I imagine I will need surgery again to replace the band, which would be about a week off again. OMG ! I'm just really confused and frustrated right now , and my DH is supportive but leaves all band decisions up to me. Sorry I've rambled on , I just wanted to know what other bandsters would do in this situation. Thanks !:)

I wish I knew what to tell you. I am lucky that my doctor is less

than 5 min. from my house.

All I can tell you is if you don't have a leak, and he fills you too much, you WILL be miserable. My doctor just has us drink some Water in the office right after the fill. I drank the Water just fine, but I was way too full. It sounds like you need to have a

fill with fluro. I have never had one like that. That's the only real

way to find out if you do have a leak.

Is there anyone in his office that you can call for advice?

Armkam:

I agree with Denise822 I think you should get checked out via fluro. That is how I had my first fill done. They cansee if everything is a ok!!!

In my opinion, if something is broke, you should try to fix it. (I hope thats not the case though)

Let us know what happens.

You have done absolutely wonderful, you have lsot 70 lbs.......Your amazing!!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
