Mexico mini gastric bypass tell me what it's like for you after your procedure

Recommended Posts

Is there anyone else here that is going to go to Mexico for their procedure? I was told I might be a candidate for the sleeve I'm not really sure. I have some problems with GERD. in that case they usually want you to get the mini gastric bypass .the thing is they don't use that procedure in the United States at least not often I have my reservations about the whole thing I'm hoping to get it done before the end of the year or before my birthday in April I really want to find a buddy who's going to be doing it as well also someone who is older all you young people bounce back so quickly!

I am 48. is anyone going to Mexico or did anyone go to Mexico to get their procedure? I also want to know what I'm in for what kind of problems did you have afterwards? could you eat ?were you sick? or your bathroom habits normal? did you have pain in your stomach ? Are there things that you can never eat again? did you choke at night? were you able to drink enough to feel sated ?are you hungry? were you weak? fill me in everybody !I want to hear all of it The Good The Bad and The Ugly

Hi I am 48 and had gastric sleeve surgery in Mexico at the OCC on May 25th. I I think I bounced back quickly I return to work after 1 week. I am a hairdresser so I kept my days short and came home and napped or went to bed early for a good month why my energy level gradually increased. I did have a little buyer's remorse around the first month because eating solid foods again just made me nauseous. That only lasted for a month or so I can now eat just about anything I want except for spicy food does not settle well with me. I have a lot of trouble getting my all my Water requirement in but fine when I do poorly at this I get constipated so it is become a priority. I started at 267 pounds and have lost 66 pounds so far so I'm very pleased with this results and I am still losing and I rather consistent rate. Even though there are the Stalls in weight loss every now and then I try not to get discouraged I'm told everyone experiences this. Overall still happy that I had this procedure.

I'm having my surgery in Mexico in January. I'm 42, not quite your age but not much younger.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
