For the past couple weeks I have had what I'd call a "short fuse"....Has anyone else experienced this?? Could it be the onset of menopause? I don't even like myself when I'm this way ???? I am almost 8 months post op and will be 49 yrs old in a little over a month. Another thing I have considered the culprit....I was able to stop taking my blood pressure medication about 10 days ago....withdrawals? Anyway...it's no fun ????

I'm more irritable during preop, trying not to be, felt headachy and weak a few days which made me worse. Just trying to be conscious of the testiness and not take it out on my family

@@Thecloude1 are you still losing weight? Could the irritability be associated with a hormone surge before / during a period of weight or fat loss? I'm only 9 days post-op but have been a raging crazy and slightly emotionally unstable person - hopefully related to hormone fluctuations. Being peri-menopausal and going off meds could also be contributing. Congrats on no longer needing your BP meds, though!! What a huge, positive step for your health! Best of luck!

Nerdgrl.....yes still losing weight but at a slower pace which is expected....I'm guessing it's hormonal too....I just hate feeling like a grouchy old [emoji199] ..before surgery I could just bury my emotions in chocolate and cookies!! Lol

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
