How much water per hour

Recommended Posts

Unsure. I've looked through the book they gave me. My main focus is Protein and Water. I'm just unsure. Had surgery Monday stage 1 til I left hospital. Stage 2 now and on 3 by next Monday seems so fast. I managed a yogurt and a Protein shake in a day.

My dietician said try to get 64oz a day (will take about a week of working towards that goal to accomplish it). Then, she also said try to break it down and do 4-5 ounces per hour (that will get you close to 64oz if you figure that you're awake for about 14 hours out of the day, minus the time you're eating or drinking your protein shakes).

Yes had Protein Water at the hospital til yesterday upon discharge. Then Protein shakes and full liquids til next Monday. I've only gotten in an 11oz shake and a 6oz yogurt. 20oz of Water and about 3oz of low sodium chicken broth.

Right after surgery, your body is in a major heal mode and it is common not to be able to meet your Fluid requirements. But just keep working towards that goal and after a few weeks you should be able to meet it.

The Fluid requirement I was given was 64-80 ounces of fluids daily.

The fluid requirement is met by a combination. It is not only the Water that you drink each day. But also the Water you drink when you take your Vitamins and medicine. It is the milk you drink. It is the fluids content of the Protein shakes. It is the water component of the Soups you take. It is met by flavored water such as Crystal Light. It is met by sugar free popsicles. It is met by tea and Decaf coffee. It is a combination of all the fluids that you consume during the day.

Yes they actually brought me grape juice in the hospital, I told them I knew I wasn't supposed to have that.

My instructions for my post hospital phase (full liquid) is a MINIMUM of 16 oz per day. The goal is up to 64 oz of NON-caloric fluids. So you don't count Protein or any other fluids. Just non-calorie fluids.

My Protein goal is 60-80 grams per day. I am hoping I can get to the bottom of that limit today. I have a variety of Proteins available.

The instructions for drinking Water are 2 ounces per 15 minutes so the maximum would be 8 oz. per hour. I am not making it that fast yet evey hour. Six oz, yes, if not drinking protein.

I'm not drinking enough I don't think about 25oz day. Full liquids seem to set better.

I have to dilute my shakes 50/50 with skim milk so that helps. Each shakes ends up being 22 oz and each ice cube I use is another ounce. I usually turn each shake into 3 servings with 3 ice cubes each so that's 62 ounces just from the shakes.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
