Unsuportive relative

Recommended Posts

Miko at least with cloths that are too big you can still use them. Every Chistmas my MIL buys me cloths that are 4 and 5 sizes too small. My husband understands. He looks at me and gives me a kiss. Tells me he loves me the way I am. Says we'll return the cloths and get something I want. MIL figured out what we were doing. She started to get the items from ABC so I couldn't take them back. The last couple of years I would just give them away (or just forget to bring them home). It hurts because she Knows what size I wear.

maybe you should call her and tell her she's out of the will ... :omg:

Tell your sister that you are leaving her your overdraft. :eyebrows:

Tell yer ma-in-law that the clothes she got you are the wrong size for you but that they will fit her husband's mistress. :heh:

Green that was too funny!

I like your sense of humor!

At first my family wasn't either and I'm sure there are a few like my aunt who have things to say but I am feeling so good about me that it doesn't matter!

At first my mom said why are you doing this?

Didn't ask me about the procedure and didn't care.

Now that the weight is coming off especially in my face and back area she is very complimenting and told me I encourage her.

I slept naked yesterday and she came upstairs without knocking in my bedroom and said man honey you look really nice.

You can really see your weightloss!

Ha! I was like what? Hey maybe I'll go to work naked so they can see my progress!

Congratulations to you from Green, Lawanda jessica! I know that your mum doesn't hand out a compliment easily. :bounce:

And to think, I was so young. ;)

*bows* My happiest duty is to provide laughter during such solemn times such as these. Once you reach goal, take a photo of yourself and send it to her with "I went to a filthy mexican doctor for a botched procedure and complications, and all I got was this lousy weight loss" captioned on the front.

I haven't had an unsupportive relative yet because the only one I've told is me Mum. Who got quiet, acted rather distracted, and then hurried to get off the phone. She has since avoided my phone calls. :rolleyes

This is a great post. Thanks for the giggles this morning.

As those guys on the Blue Collar Comedy Tour say...

"When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.

Then find someone whose life has given them vodka, and have a party!"

...my sincerest condolances. I think it's clean Canadian drugs that you should've gotten instead of dirty Mexican drugs.

You could tell your sister that it's all related to NAFTA in some way... or the result of Global Warming...

People love the drama, don't they??

Oh thank you guys for this information. I have 3 older sister, the oldest had gastric bypass and the 3rd sister told everyone that she looked like an old lady & shuffled her feed when she walked. Oh so not true, she went from 275 to 117 in 14 months & looks great & by the way she is an old lady of 60. haha. Well I am the baby at 53 and I had lapband on the 4th of this month I am like 3 days into it. I have not told anyone else in my family, cause sister 3 will start the I am dying or went to Mexico or whatever to sabotage our family reunion in Oct. I have lost 35lbs since the first of the year 18 of it post op & I am sure I will drop another 10 to 12 before I go. So they will notice a different, but I have planned to tell everyone at the same time to stop any rumors. I am not sure if I will even to that depends on when we all get there & the mood of the day, my mom is turning 80 so we are all pretty much forced to be together for her sake. I get alone well with sister 1 and sister 2 and I email but are not the closest, sister 3 and I have fought our entire lives, she also fights with sister 1, so who knows how this will turn out. It will be like a daytime soap I am sure.

The idea of sending sister 3 my fat clothes is great. I just might do it, send them to her & her daughter and when I tell sister 1 she will want to be in on it too. Oh sister 3 was always the skinny one, she just recently plumped up there with us.

Again thank you very much for letting me know I am not the only one out there with this problem & yes don't tell anyone.

Oh, and my mom has said several times I need to give the clothes I outgrew to my sister.. who is 18.. And my sister keeps insisting they won't fit, she wears an 18/20. (My hand me downs are 24/26 and 26/28 right now). But she doesn't fit in her clothes anymore, so I think my mom says these things in front of her, to give her a clue.. and I feel bad for her, but I've been there and done that. When I was an 18/20 'back in the day', I refused to move up to 22/24 for a while.. you can only imagine how I was dealing with 26/28 right before surgery, knowing none of my stores go up any more sizes!

I like the part about she's out of the will.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
