On my plan, that's Week 4. (Week 1: Clear liquids, Week 2: Full liquids, Week 3: Purees) Did your surgeon give you a week-by-week plan?

I'm one week post-op today, and food is the last thing on my mind. I get my 40 grams of Protein in through 2 powder/water shakes (1 sweet and 1 savory) and I just sip Water and Powerade the rest of the day. I guess I am just really lucky. (But it takes me 2 hours to drink the sweet Protein and 1 hour to drink the savory one. And the sipping water/powerade is an all day thing. All of that effort might have psychologically made me scared of food or something. Haha.)

As we see on here, all doctors plans differ. I really don't understand wanting to not take my doctors advice since I trusted him to perform major surgery on me. I waited 4 weeks for soft foods and survived and am doing well.

At least call your doctor's office to ask if you can move ahead. Popsicles help with the need to bite and chew.

Dang my first week I'm only having 6 ounces of a Protein Drink and 32 of Water and I have no energy at all.

I don't go to my doctors until October 11th, and I was sleeved on September 23rd. On my 8th day post op I broke down and had one egg scrambled with a tiny bit of milk in it. Just make sure you chew it really good and pace yourself. Eat half of you can and the other half later.

If having soft food at one week was so important to you, why didn't you choose one of those doctors to do your surgery? Why listen to any doctor at all, just conduct an internet poll when you want to make a medical decision.

Hi im 8 days post op and im dying to eat some food i know my doc said 2 weeks but I have seen different doctors recommend only 1 week

You can start soft foods when your surgeon allows you to have soft foods. In your case, that would be two weeks.

My week one was Clear Liquids. Week two was full liquids. Week three was soft foods and week four was soft mechanical, etc.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
