A Word Of Encouragment

Recommended Posts

I was just listening to the old but good song that I thought totally applied to all of us.

To everything, turn, turn, turn...there is a season turn, turn, turn...and a purpose for everything under heaven. A time to be born, a time to die..a time to plant a time to reap...a time to kill a time to heal...a time to laugh a time to weep...a time to build up a time a time to break down...a time to dance, a time to GAIN A TIME TO LOSE, etc, etc...

We have went through a season of being over weight for whatever reason (i'm sure there are many different reasons we each have). Now it is time to lose the weight for all the right reasons. This will be good for our health and wellbeing...self esteem, etc...

My surgery is Oct. 2 and I am so excited my weight will start FALLING OFF THIS FALL SEASON! I am anxious for this new journey and hopeful.

Okay, while I am here I will say this: I love the chatroom here and have got so much good advise, etc...BUT, yesterday evening there was some argueing going on...back and forth, back and forth, name calling ect...

I just think we all need to be sympathetic of each other and each others feeling. We are here to support each other during this difficult time in our lives. Not tear each other down. Anyway, just my two cents...you can take it or leave it.

Blessings to you all...I wish everyone the best!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
