Ok, I'm in!!!!

Short term goals

-I want to lose another 24 lbs by Christmas

-Increase my gym days from an hour 3 X per week to an hour 4-5 X per week

Long term goals

-reach 130 by my 1 year band anniversary

I haven't had a fill yet. My 6 week date is tomorrow, but my doc is on vacation so I have to wait until 10/2. Can't wait to get a fill and see how things go!

Well - it's been 2 weeks since I posted this and I am back up to about 45 minute walks but I haven't gone longer yet.

I have lost 8 more lbs though!!! I have 16lbs to go!

Ok - it's been another 2 weeks. I've lost 6 more lbs and have 10lbs to go by vacation on 10/21! *fingers crossed*

I have increased my walk with the dog to 1 hour every day. That seems to be about both of our limits right now. I'm hoping to be brave enough to join a gym when I get back from vacation.

I do have a Gazelle that I've never really used - I guess I should try to get my money out of that stupid thing in the mean time - lol.

How's everyone else doing??

I'd like to be 250 by my vacation to Disney on 10/21/07. That's 24lbs - I think it might be a little unrealistic BUT ...

I am 1 lb from my first mini-goal!!! I know I can lose a pound by Sunday. I am soooo excited!!! :whoo::whoo::whoo:

My next mini-goal is to lose another 20lbs by Christmas. I'm also hoping to get the nerve to joint a gym when I get back from vacation - for the first time in my life!!!

So I just joined this group this evening but am excited to write down some goals. Maybe that will get my behind in gear. I have been eating great but just don't seem to have enough energy to exercise. GRRRR. So here are my goals.

1. Walk 30-45 minutes a day 5x per week.

2. Be below 200 by Christmas

3. Be out of those ugly, look like they were rejected upholstery from the 1970's, plus size clothing by Valentines!

I have no idea if they are realistic, but at least it is something to look forward to!

Good luck to us all!

So I have to update my goals, because, well... I am going to hit them a lot sooner that I had ever anticipated. With only 7.5 pounds to go, I WILL BE IN ONE-DERLAND BY THANKSGIVING! I should be out of most hideous flower patterned, jumbo sized print, plus size clothing by the begginning of the year. I am still working on the exercise goal. Now I should say that I will swim 3-4 days per week for at least 30 minutes. When I said that I didn't know if my original goals were realistic, it was because I thought that I wouldn't reach them in time, not that I would reach them a whole lot sooner! Crazy Ates, we are awesome!

I've already met one goal so far (to be under 250 by my birthday - made it with a week to spare!).

Next 2 goals:

- Under 240 by Thanksgiving (only 6 lbs to go, so I'm right on track).

- Under 230 by Xmas (that's 16 lbs in 8 weeks, a manageable 2 lbs/week)

I'm trying to keep between 2-3 lbs loss per week per my doctor's recommendations and have kept it in that range except for last week (1.5 lbs and it was my birthday week so treats did enter the picture).

My portions and goodies have crept up just a tad so I'm setting a mini goal of measuring portions and logging what I eat for the week to see what happens (although I've been giving myself grief and still lost 3 lbs last week).

Go team go!

Okay! Just found this link so I'm alittle behind in sharing these goals:

1. exerise a minimum of 3 times a week.

2. 275 by Thanksgiving (5 lbs to go) Smallest I have been in 12 years

3. 269 by my birthday (12/8 that will be a total of 45lbs) I have to lose about 2lbs a week which is doable!

4. 264 by New Years Eve.

5. 250 by Valentines Day

Hard to conceive of anything past then although my ultimate goal is to reach onederland! I have been there in over 25 years!

I will update my goals when I acheive these first ones!

Wish me well!

Val

It is time for me to set a new weight loss goal. Making little mini goals here and on the exercise thread and posting them for everyone to see is really working for me. I guess it keeps me focused on a short term objective that seems doable. Funny, but I also feel accountable to all of you. So, I want to lose another 20 pounds by Christmas. I've said it, now I have to do it. That means I need to lose about 2.5 pounds a week. I believe I can do that.

Hi everyone,

I have played with the same 4 lbs. for 3 weeks now. I have had enough! If I even slip a bit I don't lose a thing. In fact, the scale swings the wrong way. I have been reading all your posts and everyone is doing great. I need your motivation, ideas and support. I have absolutely no restriction at all. I get my first fill on 11/29. I would like to be down 10 lbs by then. I bought the Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds DVD and did the 3 mile tonight. I plan to do the 1 or 2 mile every morning. It has to help. I need to really focus on this and get the job done.

Wish me luck!! I can do this!!:whoo:

LadyBug - I didn't realize when I replied to you that you had not had a fill. Yikes. I was blessed with a great doctor who managed to place that band perfectly and I am rarely hungry, so I haven't had a need for my second fill. But you can do this. The walk away the pounds is actually a very good exercise. I did it while I was on Atkins and it seemed to help. Good luck.

Salsa,

I am dying for my first fill. I just know it will help so much. I need to get back to basics. My mind is not where it needs to be yet.

thanks,

Jody

LadyBug, I feel your pain. My doc made me wait 8 weeks for the first fill and I felt like I was starving. Hang in there and do the best you can until you start getting some restriction. I know it feels like the same old dieting struggle we've been through before, but it will get better. I think exercising is the best thing you can do for yourself until then. Let us know how you like the Walk Away the Pounds DVD. I've been curious about it. I like to walk outside now when the weather is beautiful, but I need another plan for rainy days. Hang in there and before you know it you'll be down 50 lbs. Really!

Lawanda Jessica, You are doing great! I was about the same weight as you when I had my surgery (August 24th) and I weigh 219 right now. You'll be in onederland by Christmas, I'm sure! I hope to be there with you, GOOD LUCK!!!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
