  1. I pack the same standard stuff everyday, and always try to pack an assortment. -SF pudding -yogurt -unsweetened apple sauce (single serving cups) -lite string cheese I'm just starting soft foods, so I've been sticking to soup and tuna salad at lunch. I think I'll try egg salad this week for something new. YUM!
  2. Ok, I'm in!!!! Short term goals -I want to lose another 24 lbs by Christmas -Increase my gym days from an hour 3 X per week to an hour 4-5 X per week Long term goals -reach 130 by my 1 year band anniversary I haven't had a fill yet. My 6 week date is tomorrow, but my doc is on vacation so I have to wait until 10/2. Can't wait to get a fill and see how things go!
  3. Ok, so I'm officially 3 weeks and 1 day out. I feel soooooo much better this week than even last week. I finally feel like I'm gaining some of my energy back. My doc calls for full liquids in week 1-3, purees in weeks 4-7, and soft foods in weeks 8-10. So, I started purees today. What a welcome change to the full liquids. I'm weighing in once a week (every Tuesday) and thinking I might start back into my workout regime (1 hr every M-W-F morning) next week. I know I probably won't do the entire hour for awhile, but it'll be good to get up and get in there at 6 a.m. again. Other than that, I've been throwing in walks 2-3 times a day and am back up to my normal daily activity level. As a note, my bariatric nurse (who was also banded) recommended a Protein powder found at Wal-mart in the pharmacy section. It's called Body Fortress whey Protein. I have the chocolate kind, but not sure what other flavors it comes in. It is sold in a really large plastic jar. 1 scoop per 1 cup of milk = 31 g of protein. I'm drinking them every morning for Breakfast. Not as good as the carnation instant breakfast, but not horrible. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend...and did I mention that I love my band! 4. I'm joining the challenge a little late. As long as the challenge is going through the end of September, I'm up for 28 days. I can't wait to get out and get moving again. *hugs* :clap2:
  5. Hi Hannah~ Welcome to the group! I was pretty tired the day after as well. Honestly, it was the worst day. Everything after day 2 was pretty much downhill.
  6. Whosyadaddy~ You've made great progress toward your mini-goal for August! Good job!
  7. One of my friends emailed this to me the other day. Sounds awfully good (seeing as how I'm still on full liquids). I'm sure you could substitute the graham cracker crust for one made yourself with an artifical sweetener. ------------------------------------- EASY chocolate CHEESECAKE pudding PIE ------------------------------------- graham cracker crust chocolate pudding (sugar free, fat free) cheesecake pudding (sugar free, fat free) 4 cups milk In the bowl of an electric mixer, combine 2 cups cold milk with chocolate pudding; mix for 2 minutes. In a separate bowl, stir 2 cups cold milk with cheesecake pudding; mix with electric mixer for 2 minutes. Remove cover from a store bought graham cracker crust and pour the chocolate pudding mix into pie shell. Next, pour cheesecake pudding mixture over chocolate pudding. Cover with the plastic cover that comes with the pie shell and refigerate for at least one hour before serving. :clap2:
  8. Hi All~ Tuesday is my "weigh day". I'm down 2.8 lbs this week for a total of 20.8. YAY! The first week after surgery was a bit of a shocker. I lost 9 lbs, but I'm sure it was due to not taking in a whole lot. I'm still not eating much at a time, but I'm eating every 3 hours as instructed by the dietician. I need to increase my Protein though, I'm still feeling like I don't have as much energy as normal (which is to be expected for awhile, I guess). Still on full liquids for 1 more week, then on to purees (yum!). *hugs* Have a great rest of the week! banded 8/14/07 236.8 preop weight 216 current weight 130 goal
  9. Thanks for the vote of confidence, Wendell! I'm hoping you're right. :huggie: I think I may go ahead and call the bariatric nurse on Monday just to be safe.
  10. I was banded on 8/14/07, just a short week and a half ago. So yesterday evening I went with my sister and my niece to look at wedding dresses for my niece's wedding. I haven't lifted anything heavier than a gallon of milk (per my post-op instructions). I reached up to grab an empty hanger and felt a pinch in my left side just under my port incision. Granted, that incision is still a little sore after surgery, but the pinch kinda freaked me out. Now I've been paranoid all day that I may have lost one of my stitches and my port may have partially flipped. I still have the little bulge on that side of my belly, which I had before. Do you think I'm being paranoid or should I call the doc first thing Monday a.m.? Has anyone else had this happen? :help: :huggie:
  11. I'm not quite a week out and still on full liquids. My program calls for full liquids for nearly 3 weeks. I am so sick of the sweetness at this point, I'm about to gag. I've never been a fan of "cream" Soups, and I'm really struggling with the overly sweet taste of the yogurt and pudding all the time. I never thought I'd see a time when chicken broth tasted good. Anyone have any ideas for me to beat the sweets? I'm not much of a sweet eater anyway, and this is pretty much putting me into overload. HELP! *still smiling tho'*
  12. Hi MissNilsa~ I was just banded yesterday, and am a bit sore as well. You're right though, I think the gassiness is about the worst. I've heard it passes after day 1, so I have my fingers crossed.
  13. I was just banded yesterday, so I guess that makes me a Crazy Ate! Still sore today, but can't wait to see what this journey brings.
  14. Hi Nana! How do I join Crazy Ates? How's the soreness for you? I have a friend who was banded in Dec 06. She says today should be about the worst, and that it's downhill from here. *fingers crossed*
