I dont know what is sufficient, But I know that it makes me feel better. I used to DREAD excercise, even a walk across a parking lot. I used to make my hubby drive around until he found something close, or drop me off in front, but now I tell him to park as far away as possible! If I dont excercise for a few days, I can really begin to feel it. I think that I had the wrong attitude before. I always 'wished' that I liked to run, but now I actually do. I keep pushing myself each day to one day run a marathon( that is my goal).

Five times a week for about an hour each time. Its sufficient - I lost all my weight and am maintaining it easily.

Although I lie a little - for the last 3 weeks i"ve been on teaching rounds, my routine is completely arse about and I've done very little.

I go to the gym 6 days a week; 45 minutes eliptical and 4 days of the week 30 minutes with weights. The other day I usually take the dogs on a longer walk than normal (30 minutes)

This is likely sufficient for now, I had to up my time from 30->45 minutes when I hit a plateau so I'm guessing at my next plateau I'll go from 45 minutes to an hour.

I run 4 times a week ( 2 short runs - 5 km and 1 long run - building it up, but right now 14 km, and 1 run just for me... for fun)

As well I do weight training twice a week and stretching daily.

Is it enough? I hope so... I know that it makes me strong and at this point in time it isn't that much about the weight loss as it is about making my body do things I never thought possible.

Hi Cherrybomb, this has been asked a couple times, so I wanted to give you links to the other threads so you could compare then to now. I think it's good to ask the questions again from time to time as things do change for people. Just wnated you to have access to how the question has been answered in the past, too.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
