Getting sleeved tomorrow

Recommended Posts

I'm having my sleeve done tomorrow morning.. I'm very scared

Best of luck!

That pre-op anxiety and fear is very understandable. It was the worst part of the whole experience for me.

Sending good thoughts your way. I pray you have a uneventful, complication free surgery and recovery.

Let us know how you are doing.

(A side note: I gave my mom my phone with strict instructions not to give it back to me until I was no longer loopy from the pain meds!)

Good luck! Everything will be just fine. You are on the cusp of the new you. Please keep us updated!! I have 10 days and I can't wait. I understand being nervous. It's a huge life change! Keep us updated. Sending you positive vibes!

I love the phone comment. I am having mine do the same. No pain med induced texting if someone has your phone. I know how I get when I've had a few. I can't imagine what I'd be like on strong pain meds.. It's for my own good!

You guys are just amazing and so supportive.. Thank you!

Surgery went well and I really haven't experienced to much post op pain.. Has is a little uncomfortable and the larger incision(where the stomach come out) is tender .

I did the swallow test yesterday morning to make sure there was no leaking and then started Clear Liquids.< /p>

Thanks again for all the positive vibes and well wishes >hugs<

My surgery is tomorrow, 8/29. I'm glad to hear things went well. I'm a bit nervous and wondering what the first week is typically like.

Best of luck Sam! Nervous is normal, as you read, I was very scared. But the hospital staff and my surgeon were amazing and I'm following my Drs directions to a T.. So far so good.. Started full liquids today and did pretty well sipping on a protien shake.< /p>

Let us know how your doing.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
