So I had my pre-op appt yesterday. 10 more days until surgery - I am beyond excited. Starting Monday I will be on a full liquid with salad for dinner until the day before when it is clear liquids only and doing the magnesium citrate flush.

I can't believe how far I have come mentally. I WAS TERRIFIED of anesthesia - I have never been "put under" except once as a child for a dental extraction and that didn't go well so despite having previous surgeries ( 3 c-sections I was awake for) My fear was a huge reason I put off exploring WLS for almost 4 years since my PCP first suggested. the past two months I have come to terms with it and decided I am more afraid of not living my life to the fullest and thus I need to have this surgery.

I am so excited to be on the losers bench!!! Wishing you all the best!

Ok here's my update for pre surgery folk. I had my sleeve plus gall bladder out (so 7 incisions !!) on Wednesday morning. Felt lousy when I came round (gas / burning sensation) at 10am but used pain meds ( morphine). Morphine made me nauseous so stopped pain meds after first few hours and haven't needed pain meds since. Day three and I'm getting 1 liter of liquids and some Protein shake in. Only physical issue is that I'm lethargic as no food, have a rumbling tummy and boyfriend is cooking bacon which I'd really like!!. I'm told these hunger pangs pass. Oh yes and went to cinema yesterday. So really not too bad so far. Hang in there and hoping you have an easy time as i am.

Good to know that it's gas pains. I swear it feels like hunger pains & the growling noises lol

I know! I'm super missing food. What the heck! Thought my appetite was supposed to go. Everyone says when you start real food that hunger goes. I'm also not sure I really know what hunger pains feel like. As previously every time my tummy felt empty or rumpled I nibbled on cheese or Snacks previously

My surgery is October 12th!!????????I really need to get more creative with my shakes during the liquid diet. I'm getting tired of the same taste.
