    Airport Security Curiosity

Ohh wow... these stories are not easing my nerves for next months flights to and from San Juan!!! I'm a school bus driver and my son is a hunter. One wouldn't think these were remotely related until the day I forgot his shotgun and shells were laying in my back seat and I went to work. The lead driver came up to me and asked was I planning on needing to defend myself. I still had no clue what he was talking about. He said... the 12 gauge shotgun and four boxes of shells on the back seat of your car might be heavily frowned upon by authorities. Of course he was just making it out way bigger than it was, but still No weapons allowed on school property. This was two years ago... so I understand the concern. Covered them with a blanket and was good. The same year, same sons teacher called and let me know he had a pocket full of shotgun shells and I needed to come get the ASAP. He wore his duck hunting jacket to school. Thankful I knew his teacher. Otherwise that could have been really bad! So before we travel... we do serious ammo checks in all bags because God only knows where they may have stashed their ammo! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Jesus loves you!!!

It might be a fine line...

By the time I was 14, I was my full adult height of 6' 1" According to the government and several other sources, that was actually 6' 2", but I seem to have compressed somewhat over the years. In the following years, I did lots and lots of hard labor, and really packed on the muscle. I was always inclined towards chubbiness, but the work kept fat pretty much at bay. As the years passed, and the labor eased up, I neglected to reduce my caloric intake, and it landed me where I am today. Here is a picture from the dim recesses of time, when I was a mere slip of a lad at 15. This was so long ago, the entire world was still in black and white. Seriously, this is me as I just finished kicking some butt on the wrestling mat at 180 lbs in 10th grade. The 14 year old says "when the world was gray" He's 5'9" 175 pounds. Squats 345, benches 195, and cleans 225. Clearly my backbone! Hubbys pack mule for hauling out deer, and all the neighbors use him to do all the strong man work. I worry because my "little" brother is 6'5"... but skinny/scrawny. If this one gets that tall as big as he is...gonna need a second mortgage to feed him! His high Protein low carb lifestyle involves a side of beef a day now! Lol! All the precious critters!!! ❤️❤️❤️ Love them!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Jesus loves you!!!

    Drains?!?

I had one, 7 days post op they removed it. Ain't gonna lie, it hurt. But after the initial shock of the pain, it was over. And then... I was good to go! Haven't looked back. Before they removed it ... I was miserable, but it didn't really hurt, just was annoying and in my way. I could feel it moving inside me. Doc says this was because I was doing more than I should... and that he's never had that complaint. So that may have just been me! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Jesus loves you!!!

    Feelin' sorry for myself

The fact that he is soon to be ex is a good start. There are women support groups. Churches, Salvation Army, women's shelters... I'm tough as nails but I was glad I had someone to adjust pillows and get me stuff I needed when I just was exhausted. Don't lie to her, it could be dangerous. My church is always there for me and that is where my best true friends are. They cooked for my husband and son. And have for many other people who have had the need. If case need be, hire a sitter. 19. Had VSG 10/4/16. Started at 239, now I am at 189! Wooohooo! I am 5'5" tall. I have been having pain in my heel for the past year. I have seen two doctors, both with the same outcome. Turns out I have insertional tendon inflammation in my Achilles due to a heel spur and Haglund's Deformity. I sincerely thought losing weight would help ... I also thought physical therapy would help... I thought resting it, icing it and all that would help... nope. Went to doc today...for the third time... MRI scheduled for Jan 6,2017...to see what he needs to do during surgery. No walking for exercise, no running, jumping, skiing, basketball, or volleyball (he left out football . Even though I only walk and do light weights to try and keep toned ... note try-none of that except for upper body!!! He did say I can swim, um yeah it is December! All this is to avoid a rupture, which it already has a divot in it from degeneration caused by the spur. So basically... I'm a rooster! Lol. Trying to find humor somewhere in this! Of course the doc told me in July this is what was going to happen, I just hoped I was the exception not the rule. This surgery requires 6 weeks no weight on the foot. Ain't nobody got time for that!!! Hubbs and I leave on our 20th anniversary cruise in mid February... I also drive a school bus. So, I think if I can manage (I've made it this long) I will wait until after school is out for summer and then get all my crew ready to wait on me for 6 weeks minimum. If not I'll be waiting til after that cruise for sure!!! Sorry for the book, and if you read it all ...thank you! I just needed to vent. Add to it I don't think my husband understands that it's major surgery... but he tends to be that way. After 20 years, I'm used to it!
