August Sleevers

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

Had my band removed June 20 and I'm having the sleeve procedure on August 17.....36 hours from now, but who's counting. I gained at least 25 lbs since the removal.....I can't be the only one, am I?

To say that I've got a little shpilkes is an understatement. Any words of wisdom out there?

Nope, you're definitely not alone. My band was unfilled a few months ago, and I've put on ~20 lbs, and the nurse told me it's common, most of the time far more than just 20 lbs. Good luck on your surgery! My revision is scheduled for early September.

I did it. All went well except the gas is a bit painful.

I had my band unfilled 4 years ago due to complications. I gained 60 lbs. I had my band taken out and the sleeve done on August 17th. I was able to lose 15 lbs pre-op. Looking forward to getting healed and really using this new tool.

My band-to-sleeve revision surgery is August 24th!

I was very successful with my lap band for the first 2 years, losing 165 lbs (even had skin removal)... ever since last summer, my band has completely stopped working and I gained back 30 lbs within 3 months. My surgeon's office and I worked really hard to see what the source of it was, trying several different fills - sadly I am not able to tolerate anything higher than 5.75 cc. Phentermine helped for a few months before my body developed immunity to it.

I'm very grateful that insurance has approved my revision surgery and it's very surreal for it to be happening so soon. I've been bad with trying to follow the liquid diet (though nothing other than yogurt and gluten free crackers) and feel guilty about it. However, I had a very hard time sticking to it the first time around and really hope it won't impact me negatively as long as I don't have anything more solid than those options.

Had sleeve done on 8/25. Incisions are painful when I move. JP drain will stay in until Tuesday. I'm ready to feel like myself again.

Note to self: I don't have to take this day all at once but rather one step, one breath and one moment at a time. I am only one person.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
