Hello everyone. I am doing my clear liquid diet this weekend to have surgery on August 15. I survived yesterday yeah I end up feeling weak and had a headache by 530pm. It is now 230am and I'm have all this energy. I hope today is better than yesterday. I keep thinking I'm almost there I can do it. It's hard but when u want something bad enough you can do it. If I can do it so can you!!!! Be proud of what u have accomplished and think of what all will be accomplished after surgery. Think positive and positive will happen. Also I'm down 4 pound from yesterday morning. Have a great day everyone.

You can do this, so exciting your surgery is almost here, I had my surgery on the 11th doing well, I was very worried before surgery about gas pain I heard they were awful. A friend of mine had this surgery and she told me it was very important to walk as soon as they would let me which I did so I walked often in the hospital after surgery I was sleeved on the 11th and went home on the 12th. No problem with any gas pains. I too had headaches on the liquid diet. I attributed to no coffee. Good luck with your surgery.

Thank you for the advice. I will be walking around as much as they let me. I want to be able to go home to be with my daughter. Thanks will keep posted.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
