FIrst Fill at TLBC - October 1st ???

Recommended Posts

When were you two banded? Seems like a long time to have to wait for a fill, (unless you don't need one at all). Just wondering.

I was banded Aug. 17th. I thought it was a bit long too, but she said she was sure of the date for first fill...meanwhile I am dying to chew..I dont know how much longer of this Soup I can take..... I would like to eat, just real little and more variety, like on the solids diet....

Rose P.S. Will look out for you Lizster!

Interesting - each clinic seems to be a bit different - TWLS says at about 4 weeks, if able to eat everything and not feeling full. As there is only the "prime" in the band, there is really very little restriction - this doesn't mean that everyone will be ready for a fill at that point, but I am certainly going to be examining where I am at with getting this tool to work properly.

Hi Cindy, I was also banded on August 17th. I gather they have a group of people for their first fill so maybe depending on when you were banded and when they have these group fill seminars (not sure I want an audience!) , it may take longer to get the fill. Also the Dr. told me that they don't fill prior to 6 weeks as the manufacturer of the band recommends not to. It could be some legal protection for them if they wait the recommended time. Who knows... I, like Rose am looking forward to some solid food and I'm afraid that when I can do that (at 4 weeks), I will likely overeat. : (

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
