Did you have trouble losing after "graduating" to stage 3??

Recommended Posts

I am on week 4 post op and have not lost any weight since starting on stage 3 - - I go up and down but don't seem to loose anything

Please advise. I am being good and don't think I am overeating - any suggestions?

:help:

I lost 12 lbs in my first 12 days after surgery ... soon as I got to "soft foods" it has been a struggle, a fight to lose more. I too don't feel that I am over-eating, I am drinking the required amount of Water and walking each evening as well. ANXIOUSLY awaiting my first fill

food sucks up Water, Water weighs 8.33 pounds per gallon.

When you were on liquids, you had no food in your digestive tract to hold on to water.

Now you do.

I think most of us slowed down once we went back to regular foods but it's a temporary issue. Hard as it is...try not to worry about it as it's totally normal. Once your body acclimates back to a normal diet it will settle down and you'll see progress again. Your body has been through a lot and just needs some time!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
