Hi I am 5 weeks post op today July/26/2016..My weight was 370 when I started. My surgery was June 21st. I went for my 2 week post op on July 5th. I had lost 20lbs then. Now I am down to 335. SO I lost about 35lbs so far. I guess it just depends on the person and what your eating. I can now eat about 1 cup and a half of food. My stomach is still not use to certain foods and it will let me know by me throwing up alot. So I just tend to stick with foods that my stomach actually likes. So far no problems. There are good days and some bad, but like the doctors say your stomach is like a babies new tummy, it will take time and losing weight will take time as well. BUt you will eventually lose the weight fast.

@@albare1978 - 14 pounds in a month is great and 7 inches off your abdomen is incredible. Just keep doing what you are doing.

@@kgilliam2009 - 1 1/2 cups of food is WAY too much - especially at only 5 weeks. Please check with your NUT and/or your printed materials as I suspect you should be more like 1/2 cup MAYBE at this stage...

Actually it's not...I eat this amount spread out for the entire day. I know I only eat a half cup. If I don't I throw up..my doctor already knows this. I'm actually doing really well.

You've said that you throw up? How often? I'm in my 5th post-op week and I've never thrown up, even on full food. Well, there was one incident where I chugged a glass of Water without thinking, but.... ;-)

I only throw up if my stomach can't handle certain foods..it's not all the time..it's because of the acid I guess in foods. My doctor just says take your prilosec and stick to foods that are neutral nothing to acidity.

Omg I've just posted the same thing. I too have noticed that I'm losing more inches then pounds. I think it's because I haven't hit the gym yet. I'm going t inquire with my surgeon and see if this is normal as well. Let me know if you get an answer.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
