I was sleeved 7/12, so tomorrow will be two weeks. I have been doing well getting in the liquids, but I can only do about 4 oz of a Protein shake and I'm done. Then it is a little while before I feel like I can drink again because I'm full. Total Protein intake is around 30 grams. I still have low energy. I can walk around but seem to tire easily. I tried light housework today and had to take a lot of breaks. I've lost about 12 pounds since surgery. It has been about a pound a day. But...it isn't in my stomach. When I left the hospital I was so bloated from gas I couldn't button or zip the loose pants I wore to the hospital. I can't really tell any weight loss around my middle, but I can at least button the pants now.

Tomorrow will start puree foods. Yippee! I'm hoping that will increase energy.

Everyone's pain level is different. It's normal to still be sore at this time as we've only been out a week. I have a bit of soreness but I don't need the pain medication given- it's manageable. The sleeping pattern is still tough. Like you I only feel comfortable laying on my back. I'm usually a side sleeper so that's been taking some getting used to.

I had my 1st visit post op today. Prior to the pre-op diet I was 238. The day of surgery I was 220. I weighed in today at 224! I've heard about patients carrying weight from the Fluid and surgery but I was surprised to see that I'm still up 4 pounds a week out which has really been discouraging. My NUT told me to focus on my 14pd weight loss victory but it's difficult to accept the fact that I haven't lost in the week following surgery.

On the bright side of things. I was permitted to begin purées today.

One of the best things I had early post-op to help me sleep was this stretchy wrap that I would put around my abdomen and Velcro it tight. It supported my stomach and allowed me to sleep on my sides.

How's everyone doing?? I am still very uncomfortable to the point I can't sit up for long periods of time. Also very week. Think it's time to call the surgeon. I'm drinking as much as I can and getting Protein in but not the amount that is required. So frustrating but trying to stay focused and positive that it will all be worth it in the end.

7/13 for me. I am sore where the stitch in my stomach is. But overall, okay. Still having issues with Fluid intake, but I do well with my Protein.

That's great! The Gym? Do you have to wait 6 weeks?? My doctors wants me to wait 6 weeks before major exercise. He permitted only walking at this point.

I was sleeved on the 14th! Mostly everything is going well for me. I'm drinking 60-80 ounces of Fluid daily and getting about 80-100 g Protein. I've also been eating 3 Tbsp of very soft Proteins (egg, cottage cheese, chili, tuna salad, mashed Beans, etc.) 3 times a day since Tuesday.

I had my first follow up today and got my staples out, and all seems well.

I haven't had a bowel movement yet but also not feeling constipated...yet. My pain in my left side is still crippling when I am in a sitting position. I do feel hungry sometimes, which is puzzling since my NUT said this would definitely not happen.

I am 33 years old. HW: 267 SW: 252 CW: 246

Hi surgery twin lol. How's everything going with your journey so far?

@@reducer623 ... I feel the same way. Then I get kind of upset when I can't have what my family is having. Maybe not upset but kind of down. This process is so mental.

I have been doing pretty well on the week 4 diet. I have been able to eat soft Protein like moist chicken, cheese, etc. Next week I can add soft cooked vegetables along with the Protein. I'm actually looking forward to a green bean, but I will probably only be able to eat one! I manage 2-3 oz. of food at each meal. How much can everyone else eat?

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
