Hi everyone and thank you so very much for al the well wishes! My surgery was around noon last Wednesday, so today is Friday and 2 days post op. It has been a crazy ride and not an easy one by any means. For pain I had morphia which helps but also let me asleep so I did nothing on Thursday. The small amount of throwing up was hard because of hurting so bad. I was changed to reglan and tordal so last night and today I have walked, showered, and got in a Popsicle. But the nausea is still there just mild. I'm still feeling too bad to determine if surgery was right for me. My bmi was t high enough but I have spinal issues that prevent me from doing many things and that is what helped. Few more days to get through this mess of symptoms and feelings and then I hope to say it was worth it. Right now, I can't say that. Looking at others storied to find some helpful hints

@@JKBtx wanted to let you know that I felt like heck for 5 days and have slowly been getting better (I had surgery July 12). Yesterday was the first day I was able to bend over without pain from my incisions. I actually went out tonight to the movies. I have been so weak. I had used my prescription pain medication the first couple days and then only in the evening to sleep (as rolling over hurt my incisions). I did not use it last night at all. I go back to work on Monday. I think I'll actually be able to work and I'm starting to feel more like my old self. The biggest issue is that my energy level is low. I'm sure that will resolve in time as it has been getting steadily better. I don't feel quite to dehydrated anymore, the gas pain is gone and I'm feeling more functional but boy those first few days... misery. Hope you feel right as quickly as possible.

I am on day five. Gets better every day. Hang in there, rest, sip, walk and you'll be feeling better soon.

melvin5ft2 I understand why your going through. The weirdest thing is that my mind is telling me to eat something but my stomach is nauseated and trying to force fluids doesn't help it. But I feel serious hunger pains as well! I had hoped that wasn't going to be an issue but here I am. Wish I could have a saltine cracker to help this nausea.

@@JKBtx my doctor gave me these sublingual tablets (prescription) for nausea. Did you get anything like that and if you didn't ask for it (Ondansetron).

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
