I suppose stall is the wrong word, cause the moment my period stops the scales move again. I'm not super stressed about it just wanted to check if this happen to other ladies.

I had 3-4 months where I had my period every 2 weeks. It was driving me crazy because it was stalling my weight loss, but I had to learn to just accept that my body is going through massive changes and trying to adjust. i eat right every day, so there is no way I am not going to lose weight.

I generally gain weight on my period, then lose it after. My dietician told me its completely normal to gain up to 5lbs during that time of the month. Also I was told that a stall would be occurring around four weeks postop due to the way the body reacts to our new eating habits after surgery. That was told to me by the nutritionist at the bariatric surgeons office, and its true because I just hit a stall. But good news at the 8 weeks post op mark I'm told weight loss will definitely pick up again. Hope this helps. Oh and awesome job with losing 40lbs that's incredible.

I also get this annoying blind pimple on my chin every month the day before...and i get super snappy and mean.. lol.. so in a way thats my indicator its coming..

Stupid hormones!

Oh i am so sorry, i owe you an apology. I laughed at your agony. Oh please know this is all hormones, it will settle out into a routine.

I don't think it's a complete stall. Do you think maybe you just retained Fluid and Water because of your period? Do you drop a few after its gone?

I tend to gain when I ovulate then the scales don't move until it arrives and then I'll drop 3-5kg. Not every time but on many occasions. I do have pcos though. Often the gain is my cue it's coming seeing as it's not always that regular.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
