I didn't know what else to do but cry because I'm trying so hard to do good and I'm freaking hungry lol. Anyways vent over hopefully I can get my emotions together soon

I got sleeved on July 8th, and walked through the grocery store to pick up liquids. Although I do not feel hungry, the variety of scents made me have this weird feeling of missing it.

I think food addiction is a real thing. Find new things you can have that you do enjoy and try to appreciate them? I know it's rough, but it's a limited struggle to help us accomplish our long term weight battles.

This too shall pass....maybe feels like passing a kidney stone, but this too shall pass, lol.

The first couple of weeks were the absolute hardest for me. I was emotional too. Angry at myself and everyone and at times seriously regretting the surgery because I wanted to eat so badly. I do think food addiction is a real thing and it was then that I realized I had it! I am now a little over 5 weeks out and I feel great. I know it absolutely sucks but hang in there. If does get better!

Mention to him that eating fast foods, Snacks or foods you really crave, but can not have, in front of you right now is difficult while you are going through the post WLS diet phases.

Perhaps you mentioning those foods to him made him hungry for them and that is why he bought it? As far as eating in front of you, he was just eating his food and did not think of how that might affect you.

You know him, I do not.

In Friday I'll be a month post op. I know what u're feeling the first week was bittersweet. While I was in the hospital (2days) I was fine but when I went home something just clicked. My hubby is very supportive. He set up a table next to a recliner where he put all my mess and in the morning he'd put my Jello and broth but still just watching tv i noticed how 80% of the commercials are about food and that just pissed me off and caused me to make horrible choices not even 2wks post op. BUT not all days will be bad. They do eventually get better. Trust me. Hang in there. If u have any religious tendencies or practices or whatnot. Pray, sage, chant, crystal-curei it, (what ever that case may be) on it.

I am just about 2 weeks post op and have been very emotional about food too. For me, it's because I feel denied what I want--my addiction--food. It's so hard but it does get better. Little by little you start to mentally adjust. I don't know what's ahead--I'm sure I will cry about pizza sometime soon!! Take good care.

Hi sleeve twin! I also had my surgery Wednesday July 6. And I desperately want French fries. My husband is super supportive though and has been cooking and eating in the kitchen because he feels bad for my cravings. Fortunately I'm on full liquids now, and can have Fairlife milk and Protein drinks. Flavorful Soup broths like ramen without the noodles should count as clear liquid and I found they helped me through my Clear Liquids beforehand. Try to have something super flavorful, and I'd talk to your husband about being supportive. Ask him to eat at the restaurant if he wants fast food, or see if he'll do a juice cleanse or something while you're on liquids. I wish you the best!

Poor thing. Expect that your emotions are going to freak out on you. Mine did. It was nuts. I think your body just goes into shock over this huge change. I was not expecting it but it did level out and did not take a long time. My guidance is to cut yourself a whole lot of slack for the first month. It's a big adjustment but I promise you will feel better soon.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
