Wish I was losing faster

Recommended Posts

I can't even eat 5 wings. I had 4 and was full. Crazy. With as little as I eat, I thought I'd lose weight faster.
My doctor says I'm losing at a good pace, so I'm going to trust him. I just wish it was faster.

IDK why it is that everyone (including me) want to lose faster? Since I started this journey I feel like I should have lost more. Then I look at all my previous attempts and realize that I could never have lost this much weight and felt so confident that I can keep it off...never. I have learned that I am a slow but steady loser. This no longer bothers me because I have gotten small enough that I feel good, can exercise comfortably and can enjoy so many things I couldn't before. I'm in it for the long haul and the 40 pounds I have left to lose will come off. How can it not with great restriction and good eating?

At 5'4" I get about 1,000 cals a day although I don't really track calories. I track Protein (60-100) and carbs (25-50). As tall as you are and being male you should be getting more. Your body will hold on as long as it can when it is starving. Up your eating and I bet it comes off faster.

Enjoy the marathon...I've learned I don't sprint very well:-)

take care

I was told to have 600 calories a day, 100g of Protein, and 1.5 gallons of Water per day. So, 90% protein 5% fruits 5% veggies. Nothing fried. Nothing with bbq or fatty sauces.

I usually eat from 600 to 700 Cals per day. Protein is 80 and above. I drink on average 120 oz of fluids per day. My food choices may seem bland to many but a wee bit of spices takes care of that! I eat a well rounded assortment of foods, including fruit. All foods are weighed. Plus, I exercise a total of 750+ minutes per week at the gym. I am very determined to take back my life! Before surgery was able to lose 120 lbs with mainly food choices and reduction in portion sizes so postop crumb-sized portions weren't such a major mind blowing event. Since surgery in March 2017 I have lost 101 lbs. I never thought I would get to this point so fast!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
