Hunger question

Recommended Posts

Hi! I was sleeved on 12/08/15. I am down 135 pounds so far. I have been sticking to my 4 oz's 3 times a day but lately I feel like my body is telling me that I need more. I don't know if that is natural or if I am stressing and my instinct to to go towards food. Can anyone assist? Is it natural at some point to feel like you need more than 4 oz 3x a day?

What does your NUT suggest? You may need SOME complex carbs, especially if you are exercising a lot.

I haven't called her yet. I don't have another appointment till August so I figured I would ask and see if other people were experiencing similar issues.

I personally think it's a mistake to believe that your body is sending you messages about what to eat and those messages will result in weight loss. Your body, sadly, does not want you slim and healthy. Your body wants you sick and obese just like you used to be. Stick to having daily targets for calories, carbs, and Protein and don't let your obesity-craving body fool you.

Listening to our bodies and eating the way they told us to was what got us all needing weight loss surgery in the first place. My body regularly tells me to feed it cupcakes and crackers -- lots of them! I make a practice of ignoring it as best I can.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
