Has anyone been able to eat a whole cheeseburger with bun at one time? I know some can't tolerate carbs but also wondering if it fits in new stomach

Just trying to get an idea of volume and carbs. I am only 2 weeks into this and have no desire for any food. I am just very familiar with cheeseburgers

I'm 6 months post-op & can eat half of a small cheeseburger if I try but then I'm uncomfortable for a couple of hours.

No. I can't.

I don't usually eat the bun (too filling). I can eat about 1/2 a triple from McDonald's, BK or Wendy's, but that's w/o the bun. I then finish it later.

I do know some DS men who can, though.

Yes - in (variable) time.

Quick story - when my wife and I were first looking into this WLS thing and going to support groups pre-op (she had a DS 11 years ago, I had a VSG 5 years ago) one of the post op guys was telling how he got into the DS, after going to other surgeons' groups, being told that dumping was the RNY's "gift" to you, etc. he showed up at our doc's group and saw someone eating an In'N'Out burger.

"Have you had this procedure?"

"Yes."

"And you can eat that?"

"Yes."

"Great, this is the place for me!"

We do occasionally have a small hamburger out someplace, usually with just half the bun - either open faced or "extruding" the contents out between the halves. At home, they are on our normal meal rotation, usually about 1/4 pound split into two patties with cheese on a slider bun (am still looking for a whole grain slider bun....sometime settle for a half of a whole grain sandwich/hot dog roll.)

Great story and about what I thought. Small portions with little to no bun.

Thank you

Haven't had surgery yet,but I watched the view when Rosie O'Donnell was still on there &she was saying, she would take her kids to Burger King& she would get like a quarter pounder with cheese, fries & a large drink. She said now she can eat 3FF!!!!! Ya know once I have mine done I'll be so scared of stretching my stomach,I know I don't want to try & eat a whole hamburger, not even without bread, I feel like I've worked to hard to get where I'am at. I'm very blessed my insurance paid for everything but the dietitian which cost me 20$&she's cancelled twice!!!! I'm not going to worry with it now.

I'm 6 years out and although I don't do fast food burgers anymore (been over a year), I was able to eat an entire happy meal... :P

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
