My surgery is on Wednesday . I can't wait . Only thing that sucks are these liquid diets . But one positive thing about this two week liquid diet was I lost 15 pounds ( after gaining from my last weigh in) glad to be down to 219 .

I just found out this morning at my pre op visit. I thought since I'm one of his smallest patients, I would only have to do a week. This was unexpected. I would have pigged out yesterday [emoji35]

You're so close!! I have some information that says I can choose between all liquid OR 2 liquids and 1 meal. A few days ago I tried starting the ALL liquid....didn't cut it for me so yesterday I had 2 liquid, then for dinner steamed broccoli and chicken breast. However, today and tomorrow I'm shooting for ALL liquids (Water and Protein shakes). I know it sounds funny but I just want my body to be in the best shape it can be in for this surgery (Thurs) which hopefully means my liver is shrinking!!. Good Luck to you and keep us posted!! :)

Hey there surgery buddy! Mine's on Wednesday too.

I only had to do a week of an official pre-op diet, but I started cutting way back on calories and sugar on the 1st. I'm down 10 pounds since the first, so the misery has been worth it. Tomorrow, however, is the clear fluids only day. I am NOT looking forward to that! Especially since I didn't take the day off work!

I thought the same thing . Especially since everyone says I'm on the smaller spectrum of Bariatric patients . I didn't even have to do any type of dieting during my whole 6 months . I just find it weird that there are people that are 300 or 400 pounds and they do the two week liquid diet for their liver . I would just assume their livers would be bigger . It confuses me .

I'm on day 4 and haven't cheated at all... Not so much due to willpower as much as I want to make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible. I'm having a 3-part surgery: RNY, hernia repair and gallbladder removal. So I just don't want any complications. In a nutshell, I'm too scared to cheat. Lol

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
