Hello everyone I'm 2days post op. Surgery went great. Now I'm worried about my intake, even sips hurt. Hopefully tomorrow will be a brighter day.

Hey Sleevyk! I am 3 days post op and having the same issues. I've noticed that each day it gets better and the pain goes down. Today was my first day drinking a little bit of Protein and I noticed that was easier. Maybe it was all in my head, but I noticed that cold drinks hurt more and it hurts more when I am sitting down. Good luck to you.

Yesss I totally agree. That's exactly how I'm feeling. Are you still in the hospital? Hopefully I can go home in the Am. I still have my drain.

No I am home now. I went home the day after my surgery. They said I was doing great with all the walking I was doing and let me go. Hope you recover nicely and get to go home soon.

Hi. Congratulations on your surgery and a speedy recovery. I have surgery on Monday and would like to know about the drains. Do they hurt? I am having super anxiety over them! Lol!! S

I was sleeved on the 7th. I didn't have a drain? It is curious the different ways different doctors approach the surgery and the phases of diet. I had read a lot here and woke up asking where the button for pain med was and they told me I could have a Tylenol.

I found the Protein easier than the Water and when I was feeling really lightheaded I started juice/water and that has helped so much. I was never a juice drinker because I have been on a (failed) diet my whole life but I am glad I started that! Good luck! And congratulations...I think this is a great gift we have given ourselves.

Hi all, I was sleeved 6/8 and just came home last night. I'm feeling great (considering) but I feel bloated when i drink H2O. Today I'm going to try more little sips to see if I experience fewer "fizzy bubbles" and discomfort. I, too, noticed that cold water/ice was more uncomfortable than room temp but haven't tried a warmer beverage yet.

Just curious, have many of you announced your VSG to the world, or kept it private? I'm struggling with this...I've only shared this with my hubby and my BFF.

My surgery WAS a secret. Made the mistake of telling a few co workers. I left work yesterday for surgery on Monday and found out one of them told the whole office! Out of respect one of them called me to let me know. She preceded to tell me how most of them felt I wasn't fat. And they didn't understand why I'm having it??? I'm 5'3, 230 lbs...clearly over weight. Just trying to stay positive for Monday. This pre-op diet is horrible. I slipped and had a piece of turkey yesterday. I was soooo hungry and not to mention upset. Monday can't come fast enough!

I told nobody except my wife (obviously).

I found drinking improved dramatically after the 3rd or 4th day. I'm able to drink a 24oz bottle of propel Water in an hour now without any pain (11 days post op)

I am day 5 now. The swallowing and stuff gets easier. You definitely know when you are full and need to rest for a bit. I like the fact that I was not the only the that felt that way though. Thank you for letting me know I was feeling normal

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
