I am two weeks. Starts next Tuesday 6-22.

I am going to start mine on the 23rd. I am not too happy about it but . . .

Since I attempted WLS once before, I can say days 2-4/5 were the worst. Once you get past that, it was smooth sailing for me. It's hard, but when the scale shows you've lost 10-15 pounds in 7 days, it ends up being not too bad.

I'm 11 July :). I just had a horror thought... While they do the surgery are my boobs going to be on display? Do they cover u and just leave the tummy on display? Or is the whole lot on show?

You are out cold and everyone is medically trained... I wouldn't worry about it. ????

I've got my surgery date for 7-18-16. Nervous. Anyone else have a July surgery date scheduled?

My surgery is 7/18 also!

Does time seem to be crawling along for anyone else? I swear, it seems like it's been a year since being approved, yet it's only been a couple months.

It feels like it for me right now. Mine hasn't even been submitted yet as final dr appt is next Wednesday. I'll have something new to stress about once I'm waiting for approval.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
