too soon?

I have started the steps of having surgery: MRI, physic eval, exam and all the other fun stuff that goes along with trying to get banded. My only concern and question is am I doing this too soon? If I am approved I would want to wait until the end of December/beginning of January to have the surgery. Has anyone waited that long? have I started too early???

I started the process in October....it was the end of March before I finally got it done.

You're kidding, right? I had to go into litigation with my insurance and it took two years from the time I started the process!

I am a cash pay patient so I didn't have to fret with all the insurance stuff. However, to answer your question, I was approved for surgery 3 weeks from the day of my first consultation and they wanted to schedule right away. However, I put a break on things to make sure this is what I wanted to do and scheduled my surgery date 4 months after approval.

I say go with the flow and do what feels right to you.
