I'm starting my sleeve journey May 30 2016 with my preop diet and surgery is schedule for jun 8 2016 ,I've been overweight the majority of my life and am finally ready to be comfortable in my skin again. I'll be a self pay using bariatricpal in Mexico so everything is moving very quickly for me.

I had learned the differences between the band, the sleeve, and the bypass and opted for the sleeve. I felt the sleeve would be the safest bet for me.

I'm currently at 200 and my goal weight is 110. I'm so ready for this journey! I'll be updating my journal along the way. If you'll be having your surgery in June please let me know so we can support each other!

I'll be sure to post throughout my procedure and will check in with progress .

@@lovemyself Good luck! Glad you researched and came to a decision. I just had the sleeve (revision from band) on 5-25 and feel good. I'm very glad that I took action. Keep in touch.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
