I know i ask alot of questions

But i need answers☺

How long did everyone take off work?. I'm a cook i work 2 jobs an around food 12+ hours a day.

I lift heavy items its strenuous I'm on my feet all day.I know it will be a challenge still having to be around so much food after surgery i was thinking taking a month off. Will i need more time to heal?

When i go back to work i wont be allowed any restrictions have to come back doing my regular work.

A physically active job will be tough. You won't be able to lift heavy stuff and you may not have the physical energy to do an active job where you are constantly on your feet. Desk jobs are completely different.

I agree with @Proud2BMe. I just started back to work last weekend, also working in a position that requires no restrictions (I work in a hospital, three 12hr night shifts in a row). I am on my feet walking the majority of those 12hrs also pulling/pushing equipment and patients. I took 6weeks off and am so glad I did. Most surgeons don't release you to lift over 20lbs until the 6 week mark anyway. As far as being around food, you'll be shocked and amazed how you just don't want the same things you would not be able to resist before surgery. Best of luck and take the time to heal and learn how to integrate your new eating and drinking style into your life. It's a challenge!

My surgeon said 6 weeks for a job that requires any physical demand. I actually have a desk job. But it's very stressful with 50+ hours per week. I go home exhausted at the end of the day. I am taking 6 weeks. While I don't really do physical activity, it is listed in my job description that I need to be able to. But I figure the fatigue factor will keep me out more than the 2 weeks if at a desk job. Your job sounds like you need 6 weeks. Lifting and being physically active too soon could lead to incisional hernias months down the road. Be conservative. Take 6 weeks.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
