I was surprised to see that my stomach came out of my right side...that is where my biggest incision is. Sometimes my stomach feels heavy but I think it is the muscles healing.

I agree with ALL of this. Good to know we aren't alone!

hi everyone, finally got 2 come home yesterday had 2 stay extra i was so sick, vomiting over and over and over for 2 days, had patch behind ear, plus was getting 3 different kinds of meds in iv, plus a shot in my arm every 3 hours, my staples felt like they were gonna pop out, also because of being so sick my drain was filling fast and he wanted 2 keep an extra eye on me, i was laying there allday wednesday and thursday thinking i made the biggest mistake of my life, and besides that alot of toilet time, just wanna rest but have 2 keep running for the bathroom, i havent eaten anything in 5 days, but 2day i had my first half of a scrambled egg, so far so good, im so thirsty but just keep sipping away as much as i can, slept pretty good for the first time last night....im glad 2 read everyone is doing good, and that 50 min car ride from hospital was rough, but dont have much 2 do till doctor appointment in 3 weeks....

Has anyone else dealt with dizziness, and severe lightheadedness? Like enough where you actually feel like your going to pass out and the room spins?

one step at a time, one sip at a time, one pound at a time.

I have not, but heard it's possible, especially if you're having problems getting in your Water and Protein. Keep sipping, hopefully it will clear up. If not, you should probably call your doctor.

Yeah, that happened to me last night as well as a few days ago. I broke out in a sweat too. Usually when I eat something I shouldn't be. Last night had creamy chicken Soup out of the can. I didn't dilute it. Although I only had about a tablespoon, it was enough.

Mine too.. but he said cream would be okay. He said, if it can't go through a straw, then dont eat it. I think it was the sodium.. I should have diluted it. I'm eating the same Soup now, but this time I diluted it with milk. So far everything is fine.

Glad to hear it! I am also not supposed to use a straw. That kind of bugs me, cuz I LOVE straws. I've been trying to stay away from them, must admit, I've still been using 1 or 2 a day. Hasn't bothered me, so I figure if that is the worst "cheating" I do, I'm still pretty good!

So I'm not an alcohol drinker. I'm just curious, does anyone else feel a little drunk when you take your liquid pain meds? I swear I feel buzzed. It goes away within 15 minutes.. but I thought it was funny. ????

Has anyone tried cream of chicken Soups? I had my first today. I didn't have a lot, maybe a tablespoon . I ate it VERY slow and I felt the beginning of a cold sweat. So I stopped. Then I got very sweaty and now I'm in bed trying to relax a little.

Is it too soon to have it at 4 days Post-Op?(or are we at 3 days) Or should I try it again and dilute it a little? I'm just glad it didn't hit me like the first time.

I haven't had cream of chicken, but I've had Tomato and cream of broccoli. With both if them I diluted it with milk. They've settled well so far.

one step at a time, one sip at a time, one pound at a time.

Thank you so much. I was able to have 4 oz of Soup (took me two hours to finish it) The milk helped so much, and it added extra Protein. Thank you so much!

So glad that it helped. My NUT Said everything has to be thinned out at this point. I had 2 oz of Greek yogurt thinned out with milk and added Protein powder for Breakfast. It took me 45 min to eat it, but it was delish and settled well.

I am extremely grateful for this opportunity, but I can't help but notice feeling regret right now... I have been extremely weak and tired and essentially house bound... You don't notice how much revolves around food until you can do that stuff any more... Any advice or words of encouragement?

I have been feeling that way to. It is a holiday weekend, people are grilling and the pool opened. I have been pretty mobile so I went and walked around the mall....I am now not just dreaming of what I am going to wear I can see a goal in site. That has made it so much easier for me today. We only have a few weeks where we will feel like this and when we can eat real food we will feel better. Hang in there @@sarahb309 we are going to look fabulous soon!

AMEN to that @@Lindsey Skinner Abbott

These are my goal jeans. I have them where I can see them in my room. Size 11. I know I will make it beyond this, but right now, this is my goal. I looked damn good in these jeans once upon a time. It's just a small sacrifice in exchange for a healthy life.

@@sarahb309 I have been feeling the exact same way so this morning I made sure to get my Protein in by adding the nectar to my crystal light and that really did help with the loss of energy, but I still struggled with the thoughts of food. My NUT only allows Clear Liquids the first two weeks so I am struggling a bit. I actually broke down and licked a couple BBQ chips today which i am not proud of, but I did it and just being honest. It actually helped with my craving because I was tired of the bland taste in my mouth. Although i did lick the chip that is as far as I will go because I dont want to sabatoge my new way of life. Hang in there dear, we will make it!!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
