Hi! I'm Tina in Tennessee and scheduled for a BPD/DS on Tuesday. I'm already down about 18 lbs and looking forward to my new life change of healthy eating. Any suggestions on things to make this easier? Thanks and glad to be part of this community

Hey there Newbie Tina.

I'll start it off with a few tidbits. First of all. Fear usually stems from the unknown. & Knowledge is power.

And with that you can belay those fears and gain that knowledge right here. To find the answers to just about any question that can be imagined, just do a Search. If you still need some reassurance....ask away and someone.......probably a lot of someones......will help you with any questions you might have. ;)

Hi Tina,

I guess I'd say you should try and wrap your head around the fact that you won't be counting calories ever again. You'll be much more focused on grams of Protein. Also, that you'll be able to eat as much Protein as you want so you won't feel deprived or hungry (I eat every hour of two). And, fat will become your friend. I eat full fat everything (including steak and hamburgers). It helps keeps your gastro. system moving well.

Those are just a few of the things I can think of off the top of my head. There are tons more.

Best of luck tomorrow.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
