Boxing training and workout regimen

Recommended Posts

Hello friends,

Some of you expressed an interest in boxing.

As part of my charity work I am Director of a local nonprofit named The Advocates Boxing Youth Program.

I plan to post videos of a basic boxing workout regimen for those of you wanting to learn.

The focus will be basic punches, stance, footwork, balance, and combos.

But for now please enjoy these videos of Xavier Garcia a 10 year old boxing participant whom I have the

pleasure of working with. He is training to compete so the work is a little more intense.

Please copy and paste to your browser:

Hope you enjoy!

Jason

Coming soon. I just want to make sure that I'm able to do all that I teach without embarrassing myself, lol. Probably by this weekend. Thanks!

Mitt work is good but there's alot more to it. Jump rope is a most and shadow boxing help as lot too

in a stunning bout of insanity, I pulled out my jump rope this week, and it is a lot easier now than it was. kinda fun too. will I make a habit of it? probably not, but it is good to shake up the workout from time to time.

made me feel like a kid, for a few minutes anyway. I put my hair in a ponytail, just to maximize the kid effect. maybe should do pigtails next time, ha.

It's a great way to get the blood pumping. 10 to 20 minutes.

I promise buddies the videos are coming soon. Just remember they are basic boxing regimens and technical stuff. Will be short and to the point.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
