Nausea with vitamins

Recommended Posts

Hi! My roux en y was 4/4. I've done well overall; I do tend to dump pretty easily, though.

My Vitamins...ugh! Does anyone take these in pill form? I've only had chewable. I've tried a few different ones, but they all nauseate me and I end up throwing up. The actual thought of them right now made me dry heave. I wish I was kidding.

This is surprising to me because I'm usually a suck-it-up kind of gal. Ideas?

Do you take them with food? Do these Vitamins have Iron in them?

I can't take multi Vitamin that has Iron in it, I have to take iron different time of the day by itself... Maybe try that?

Sorry you are not feeling well... I use the nascobal brand

I haven't had my surgery yet. I take the Celebrate Multi Vitamin with Iron and every time I take it - about 5 min later I get a wave of nausea but it quickly passes. I'm hoping that's not going to be worse after surgery!

I had the same problem - I'm now wearing the Patches that they sell on the store here https://store.bariatricpal.com/collections/vitamin-patch/products/multivitamin-plus-patch-30-day-supply

I haven't been tested yet but I have read other topics on this forum that suggest they work well... couple of post on this forum about them http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/366414-patch-md/?hl=%2Bpatches#entry4145353

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
