Have they recommended drinking G2 or something with electrolytes? How about increasing your sodium intake? Don't forget that you get fluids from other drinks and food too - jello, sugar free popsicles, fruits and veggies etc. Avoid caffeine.

If you are exercising then you need to up fluids as well.

I have been very strict.Water only ,occasionally I drink coconut water.I would drink Isopure drinks pre op now I can't stand it and I hate that stinging aftertaste. The same with sports drinks....I hate that aftertaste.

I am almost 3 years post op RNY gastric bypass surgery. After surgery, my taste buds changed and Water no longer was appetizing. So I found other things such as flavored water (i.e. Crystal Light) to be acceptable. Later I began to drink fine English teas. Then as time went on I began drinking hot cocoa during the cold months. But one can only use the "no sugar added" variety. It is important to meet you daily Fluid requirements. So experiment until you find something that works for you.
