My surgeon never said anything about caffeine but I keep reading about it on here. I have one more meeting with him prior to surgery and will ask about it but in the meantime, can someone please explain the reason?

I just got the call after waiting 2weeks that my surgery is on June 27th. I am super excited! Any advice on getting ready for my pre-op

Wowwwww!!! A lot of 6/27!! I'm on 6/27 too!! I don't get my diet until I go to my meeting on 6/7 so no advice yet but let's keep each other posted! I bought all my post surgery stuff off here.

@@taracutch Caffeine is a diuretic which is not a good idea when trying to keep fluids on board and caffeine is an irritant this could cause ulcerations.

Thanks for the info :)

Plus, if you go into caffeine withdrawal, the headaches can be brutal. Not something I would recommend going through while also trying to recover from surgery.
