Off topic rant, but its really funny -- college degree mills

Recommended Posts

I've heard of college degree mills but this one has certainly got to take the cake. It only costs about $100 bucks to take the test as many times as you want until you get 75% of the questions correct. Wow. That sounds like a bargain.

What's more, you can hold some wildly impressive degrees. Check these out: http://ulc.net/index.php?page=shop&cat=17

I think that I will apply. By the end of the month I could hold degrees as the Doctor of Immortality and the Doctor of the Universe. I'll feel so omnipotent!

Hey, this is where I got ordained :D I've performed 2 marriages so far, and I have my 3rd scheduled this summer. It's pretty handy to be an ordained minister. Oh, and I've done 1 funeral. Maybe I should buy a robe and a stole! It'll go with my Rev. Lindsay badge I purchased for said weddings.

I kind of want a Doctor of Immortality degree. I'll get it framed and hang it under my (actual hard-earned) master's degree. Would be a very impressive credential to my students.

Send me $50 bucks and I'll ask you a few questions (assessment) and create and print a really impressive certificate.

Lol, I was ordained through this service. My real degrees are from real schools, but I think everyone knows that these degrees are not something that can ever be used on a resume.

You'd be surprised at what "everyone" knows.

@@AvaFern I know people who have ordinations like this so that they can perform weddings, or because they give spiritual advice or they are energy healers and things like that. The ordination in their case protects them from getting sued.

I just thought some of the "doctorate" degrees were hilarious.

I've actually been looking for an ordination program, which is how I stumbled upon these degrees. I don't want a traditional seminary and I don't want an overnight ordination, either. I am still looking for the right fit.

@@My Bariatric Life

I got the ordination so I could charge more for notarizing wedding documents, haha. There is a cap on fees that a notary can charge, but there is no cap on a fee that a minister can charge. I also thought it was a little amusing. The test took about 20 minutes and I had all of my official paperwork in two weeks.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
