I am 4 1/2 months out from gbp and I've only lost 59lbs. I hit plateaus of 3 to 4 weeks at a time and it's very frustrating. What should I be doing different? Any suggestions would be great.

Jen dont be so hard on yourself...59 lbs in that time is amazing!!

The only suggestion I have is probably to add in some movement. Dont beat yourself up though...thats a great achievement!!

I was at the exact same place at 4.5 months out - about 59 lbs down. People lose at all different rates. Provided you're following your plan to a "T" (and if you're not, do it!), you may just be a slow loser. I am. But I've still lost a total of 168 lbs, so even we slow losers can use a ton of weight in the long run.

I'm at about the same time out as you and have lost right at 60lbs. My body does the same thing. I won't lose for a couple of weeks y then I'll drop 3-4 lbs. I've lost on average a little more than 10lbs a month. For me 10lbs a month continuously is awesome! :)

I have PCOS and am losing slowly but I am so glad to see the scale going in the right direction instead of upwards for a change...patience is the key...cut out as much carbs as possible.

After RNY gastric bypass surgery, your weight loss is achieved through meal volume control. In the beginning the size of your meals are incredibly small. Therefore you need to supplement Protein shakes or other Protein supplements so that you do not damage your body. Your daily protein requirement is a combination of the amount of protein from your meals combined with the protein from your supplements.< /p>

As your meal volume increases, you have the option of reducing your consumption of protein supplements provided you concentrate on consuming high protein meals. This is important because the protein supplements you are consuming contain calories. As my meal volume increased I went from 3 Protein Shakes a day, down to 2, then to 1 and finally none. That approach broke my stalls.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
