Anyone get sleeved in May?

Not bad. No pain yet. Just some tightness in chest from air

I had my surgery on May 4th. I am still on a full liquid diet, which is mainly yogurt, cottage cheese and creamed Soup. I miss sitting with my husband and kids at dinner. I have just been staying away since it is hard. I'm feeling like this was a big mistake. I hope I feel "normal" once I can eat again.

Maybe you can take your soup or yogurt and join your family. Don't isolate yourself.

G'day from down under! Had my sleeve done 5/9, so am a little over one week post op. My story so far was I started my pre op about 2.5 weeks out and dropped 12kg (sorry the lb conversion is hard, but around 22lb) in that time. Total loss to date is 20kg. Started at 158kg and headed for 110kg.

Due to some comorbidity issues with a BMI of 47, surgery was about my last option. My mindset going into was one of wanting to be around in the future and be able to keep up with my kids. Having been involved in sports and training nearly all my life, I was left extremely disappointed and depressed when I hurt myself and could no longer do those things that I loved.

I have zero regrets about what I have chosen to do, and have a super star wife who supports my choice 100%. She often tells me that her dinner tastes bad so I don't feel like I missed out!

I know this might sound counter intuitive, but from the first day back home I was back in the kitchen cooking for my family while I've been sucking it up on fluids! I find the cooking therapeutic and don't really have the urge to want to eat what I'm cooking for them. Savouring the smell is fine by me.

I was really lucky in that my surgeon was very good and provided me with a great set of info from the start, and the support services I have sought out (which has been minimal) have been very good as well. I have never felt like I was alone on this journey.

Tomorrow I will eat my first egg in 4 weeks so am pretty excited by that!

I am happy to share my experience with others if you feel it may help you, so please feel free to ask any questions you might have! Looking forward to seeing how the May group goes!

Haha! I know that feeling!

At least you'll be used to what they give you in hospital for your Protein. I was on optislim prior and they gave me Optifast after surgery. It was terrible!

It doesnt bother me other than the monotony so I will stick with it post op unless the new stomach disagrees.

Well I came home today from the hospital. Can't wait to get my drain out Tuesday. Drinking all this Ensure, Premier Protein drinks, blue Poweraid and Water is tiring.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
