So sorry - haven't been on here much. I feel GREAT! Not fighting my head hunger daily, although it does hit at times when we are out. 20.4 lbs down since surgery and another 10 before.

I had my surgery April 6th at Princeton/Plainsboro hospital. My head hungers are driving me crazy.

I have only lost 7lbs and am frustrated because I thought I would drop weight quickly.

I had my surgery on April 5 and at my last apt I was minus 16 lbs which I am happy with. The only issues I have are fatigue and a pain/soreness in my chest. Has anyone else had this? Is it normal? Of course my mind goes to the all the worst places and I make myself nervous.

HI Jill,

Congratulations. Did You go in Surgery at around 10. I was there the same day and Dr. Ewing came to see me and my hubby and after signing papers and talking for a bit he said i had someone before me. I went in at around 12 and unfortunately i couldnt get the sleeve done because my band had slipped. So i go on May 24th. I'm doing fine It sounds like you are on track. All what you are feeling are normal it will get better WOW 16 lbs great job..

Ha! What a small world we live in!! Yes I did go in around 10 and have zero memory of anything except waking up in recovery. I'm sorry to hear you couldn't get your procedure done. I just wanted to make sure what I am feeling is normal and will go away in a couple weeks. I am glad I found this site.

Is this your first WLS or did you revise and if so to what? This site is great i have been on here since my lapband in 2006 and 10 years later im on again. Dr. Ewing is great Same Doctor since 2006.

This was the first surgery I ever had in my life which is probably why I am so unsure about everything I am feeling.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
