Yogurt recommendations please

Recommended Posts

2 weeks out and Got cleared for yogurt, pudding and apple sauce. I tried the Greek triple zero yesterday and apparently that was way too think because after 2 tiny bites I felt like it was just stuck. What other yogurts that might be a thinner consistency would you recommend?

I eat yoplait Greek yogurt and did so when I was cleared for purred foods.

Maybe you could add a little Fluid, like a little of a Protein Shake to the yogurt and thin it out?

I've tasted a lot of them and have been having trouble finding one I can eat. I finally found Dannon's Light & Fit Greek yogurt. They have several flavors, it's not the best but it's worth giving it a try. I didn't like the apple pie one, not good at all. Hope this helps, good luck. Oh, and they have them in the whipped mousse consistency too.

I eat the Light and Fit yogurt as well. I like them pretty well. I like that they are pretty low carb (most are just 9 g of carb unless they have chocolate on top...then they are 11g of carb).

Oikos triple zero Greek yogurt.

This is also what my NUT said was best for protein/sugar, etc for after surgery. I haven't tried it yet because I'm not a huge fan of yogurt, but I plan on getting some for my pureed phase.

Adding a little Protein shake to thin it out sounds like a good idea!

Only problem I have with the Oikos triple zero Greek yogurt is that is does have a few more grams of Protein that the Light and Fit Greek yogurt, but the sugar content is higher and so are the carbs. For those extra 2-3 grams of protein I'd rather do much lower carb. Just me though. I'm used to looking at carbs rather than anything else because I'm diabetic. You may differ because of not having other health issues.

I love adding yogurt to my Protein Shakes. it thins the yogurt down, and makes the shake more creamy.

Most yogurt was too think for me as well. I finally settled on Yoplait Greek Whips - 100 calories and around 9 grams of Protein. They are so light and fluffy!

I like the Dannon Light and Fit Greek yogurts! Also, cottage cheese is really good with mashed peaches and a little sugar free peach syrup! I'm not a big cottage cheese girl but, I am able to eat it that way and benefit from it's high Protein. If you get premade Protein Shakes, I found blending them with Ice made them easier to digest the first few weeks! But the Dannon Greek L&F yogurts are yummy! No big chunks of fruit and great flavors and low sugars for a yogurt! :)

Fage Greek yogurt plain, vanilla Protein powder, powdered Peanut Butter and Water to thin is what worked for me. I can't do most artificial sweetners

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
