  1. So I am 14 mos post-op RNY and I have a very large ventral hernia that desperately needs to be repaired. My surgeon is strongly urging me to have a panniculectomy done when I have the hernia repair. I really have no desire to have the excess skin removed at this point, it doesn't bother me at all but my surgeon claims that that is the right thing to do. He said hernia repair may fail if I don't have the skin removed. Has anyone else been in this situation?
  2. Wondering when your surgeons did blood work after surgery to make sure you weren't deficient in Iron or Vitamins? Had RNY on 2/22 and saw my surgeon last week and I was surprised they didn't order any lab tests. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. I'm 2 months post op and my recovery was a breeze. No nausea or vomiting, very minimal discomfort and no depression. I was expecting so much worse after months of reading so many bariatric message boards. Everyone is different and has different experiences. Go into it with a positive attitude and most of all follow your doctors orders! Good luck I'm sure you'll do great. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. I had gastric bypass on 2/22 and have been feeling great. Yesterday I started feeling very queasy for no apparent reason and its continuing today. Not throwing and I did force a shake down this morning. Has anyone else experienced this all of a sudden and any ideas why? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. Has anybody suffered with Indegestion/reflux type symptoms 3 weeks after bypass? My doctor has me on Pepcid but it's not helping. Wondering if I need to go back on Prilosec. So frustrating, I thought the surgery would help acid reflux not make it worse. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  7. So tomorrow is 3 weeks post RNY and this week I was just able to introduce yogurt, apple sauce and sf pudding. At first the yogurt seemed ok but yesterday and today I got uncomfortable after the yogurt a feeling similar to indigestion and it lasts the rest of the day. Makes me not even feel like drinking. Any idea what it could be? Should I just stay away from the yogurt? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. I'll try letting it sit for awhile before I drink to see if it that helps Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. Does anyone have any tricks for eliminating the foam that forms after a blending a Protein shake? I can tolerate the shakes but all that foam just literally makes me gag. I use a ninja or a Blender Bottle and get the same results no matter how little I blend it. It's preventing me from getting in all my protein. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. Had bypass on 2/22 and just had my staples removed yesterday. My incisions are so dry and crusty is there anything that you put on your incisions to help them heel? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. 2 weeks out and Got cleared for yogurt, pudding and apple sauce. I tried the Greek triple zero yesterday and apparently that was way too think because after 2 tiny bites I felt like it was just stuck. What other yogurts that might be a thinner consistency would you recommend? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
