September 07 Roll Call

Recommended Posts

Anyone else out there being banded the week of the 17th?

I am being banded on the 18th. I saw the money leave my account today and that has put it into perspective.

My pre-op diet is no carbs starting 10 days prior.

:gluck:

Good luck to all the September Bandsters with band dates for next week.

Darranga (sorry if I mispelt it, it is on a different page!) We are due to be banded on the same day! Woohoo!

Time 4 me - I am not nervous yet either. I have tons of stuff I am doing around the house to get ready though. Things that would bother me if they weren't done. I had a consult with the first surgeon, but decided to switch during the approval period. I haven't met him for my surgery, but met him when he did my SIL's band. My friends hubby also went through him as well. He was very nice and very informative! I go and see him on the 13 of sept. and then surgery a week later! I don't have a pre-op diet with the new surgeon, but have heard that doing the liquid diet will help to shrink the fatty tissue on the liver and stomach. So, if that will mean easier surgery, then I am up for it. Not to mention that I will never gain any of that weight back either! Let me know how your sept. 5 appt goes! Good luck! BTW my name is Tricia

Hi, I'm Lisa and I'm scheduled for 9/10 and I am soooo scared. I have been having weird and scary dreams. I guess it's my subconcious trying to work out my anxiety and fears. :phanvan

Welcome Chilipepper! I haven't had any dreams about the surgery, just ones of me looking oh so hot! Do you have to do a pre-op diet?

<p>Yup, my pre op diet consists of 4-5 EAS Advant Edge Carb Control shakes (from walmart) with 17g of Protein and a lean cuisine. Basically less than 800 calories per day. I'm on day three and soooo look forward to my lean cuisine every night. The shakes are only 110 calories, 3 g of fat, 4g carbs, and no sugar. I'm already tired of chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry, but I just drink them. Instead of taking it day by day, I'm taking in on shake by shake. As long as my liver shrinks that's the important thing. I'm glad I'm not limited to only two shakes a day because after about two hours I'm hungry again. I've been trying to drink Water and crystal light in between to trick my tummy into thinking it's full. At the end of the day I put a little sticker star on my calendar because I've accomplished my 800 calories. Oh and my dreams aren't about the surgery, they're about my mom dying (how morbid is that, I love my Mom) and bad stuff like that. I guess dreaming about death is something coming to an end, a start to something new and fresh, rebirth, or a sense of worry will cease to exist. I had to look up the meanings because I was so upset about my dreams. Hopefully just about my anxiety over lapband.

Well, I guess it is time to get a list going! Please post your online name and your surgery date here so we can find Banding Buddies! You know, someone to commiserate with during days of Bandster Hell, and someone to share Non scale Victories (NSV) with - like tying your shoes without having the laces crooked. Maybe one day, we can even have a mass "granny pantie" burning!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
