Happy to hear your little mix up is now corrected I had times where i was aspirating in my sleep literally choking on my own saliva you don't want to be there it's an awful feeling just got unfilled a bit this week. 19 lbs Below goal weight eating much better with some fill removed good luck to you.
  2. NO Carbs no sugar tons of Water and exercise! good luck
  3. Hi Grace, you just got banded it takes a while depending on the sz band you have. Your going to be hungry and not have good restriction until your band is adjusted. I was banded in sept of 07 and as of this past week i finally have very good restriction almost to much i think. This all takes time so be patient it might take several fills before your on the road to some good weight loss and feeling full. good luck
  4. :biggrin2: Janet what your thinking and feeling is perfectly normal i did the same thing always worried i am going to fail even after surgery. your not going to fail it all takes time and remember this is just a tool it's still hard work! I am 4 months post op down about 25lbs doesn't sound like much but i can feel and see that 25lbs, i might be down more but refuse to keep scale hopping that is the most frustrating thing seeing your wt go up and down. keep on track and keep food logs if you have to. Your not filled yet so you feel like you can eat the way you did prior to surgery and yes that is true because you don't have restriction it took me 3 fill until this past dec to get good restriction and all i did is get food stuck and my best friend was the bowl:sad: I personally feel that i'm never going to lose the wt i need to lose but with hard work and keeping on track it will happen i know alot of people personally that have had great success with the lapband and they all felt the same way i did about failing after surgery keep positive thoughts and we all will win this life long battle!:biggrin2:
  5. Hi spunky, First of all glad to hear you did well with the surgery i talked to u the night before your surgery in the chat room. This should be a happy time in your life because your starting a new life. One of the best things the band has done for me is give me peace of mind that when i lose my wt I know i'm not going to gain it back this time! Another great thing with the band you'll NEVER leave the table feeling stuffed saying why did i eat that much i feel horriable it's 3 months since my surgery and not once have i had to go through that stuffed full yukky feeling asking why did I stuff myself. There are so many positive things to look forward to with the lapband, this will be the hardest time recovering and the food intake or shall i say the non food intake.
  6. I think this is where the chew chew chew comes in that we were taught prior to surgery what a learning experience so this is the way it's suppose to be, i'm able to get things down a bit more by taking my time and chewing chewing chewing i hope i have teeth left by the time i get thin lol. ty for your input this talk sight is such a huge help thank u again i'm ready for my next meal:hungry:
  7. This is day 4 since i've had restriction like this, liquids go down fine soft foods go down fine, I tried several other things certian things get stuck other things don't i am going to see how the weekend goes if i'm spending time at the bowl after i eat then I'll go see the doc. Thank you also lorsbander sorry to hear about your problems
  8. I can get soft foods down like cottage cheese and yogart, if i can't get solids down i'll call the docs office on monday. thank you
  9. I'm months post-op I have a 10cc AP band first fill was 3.5 felt nothing 2nd fill total 5.5 felt a bit of restriction 3rd fill dec 12th 07 1cc total 6.5 For the past 3 days everything i've tried i've had pain after 2 to 3 bites and had to go visit the bowl !:rolleyes don't think i've had a total of 500 calories in the past 3 days if that, just wondering if this is the way restiction suppose feel? even Jello after a few spoonfuls was tough going down. Been working on a pork chop now for about a half hr with pain! I am to filled? will this go away in a few more days any advice or suggestion would be great. wondering how others feel with restriction looking for opinons thank u. total wt loss 26lbs aprox. 100 more to go
  10. Finally know what restricted is all about went for my 3rd fill a few days before thanksgiving i've never puked up in my life as i have this past week! liquids and soft foods go down just fine this is the stage where you need to chew and chew and chew small tiny bites i can now see how this banding works! down 23lbs banded sept 7th 07 VG 10 cc band total fills 5.5
  11. Diva, so what your saying is you have a total of 6cc's in your 10 cc band so it took that much fill to finally feel restricted? I am going for my second fill weds i wonder if i should tell my doc fill it up lol? this is nuts over the past few weeks i'm eating more and more not bad foods just more portion wise of proper foods can't wait until my next fill 5 more days and counting. cindy
  12. I had a my first fill with 3cc's and don't feel a bit of difference i also have a 10cc band i am going back the 31st and hopefully he'll fill it so i can feel some restriction i can still eat bread, chicken, etc i hear people saying food gets stuck nothing gets suck for me so i know i need some band adjustment i am down 14lbs not much in 6weeks hopefully once i'm tightened i'll start losing some serious wt. good luck
  13. Congrats on your banding wow your online already good for you, after a few weeks your stomach will quite down the first few weeks were very noisey. Please keep us posted on your status!
  14. Had my first fill today 10/16 doc, found my port right away i said wow u found itfast! doc replied yes i'm the one that put it there i better be able to find it lol! i asked if i should go back on liquids he said keep on doing what your doing so i had some soft foods/ muchies today and everything went down actually to well. I was filled with 3cc's i have a new band that just came out 2 months ago he said it's a 10cc band and that leaves room for my adjustments i guess he knows what is best after all not only is he my surgeon he also educates other surgeons on banding. As i read up above it can take a few weeks i also have to see my doc every 2 weeks for the next 3 months. I'm 5 weeks post-op and down 13lbs i'm fine with that wt loss after all it took me years to put it on so i don't mind a few yrs to get it off!
  15. congrats on your banding! and yes mine did the same thing i was banded on sept 7th this continued until i started eating semi and solid foods. Also as you heal you'll be able to drink more liquids. cindy
