How are you doing with your revision?

Recommended Posts

I am at 46 lbs at 3.5 months since revision. I was told I am just barely under the average. My nutritionist said I should be at 64lbs lost at 6 months. She did say to expect a slower loss than someone who just had the bypass alone. No regrets this has been a fairly easy process so far.

Since you are the expert, I need to lose at least 3 lbs for Thursday for my last weigh in with the dietitian for my supervised diet, even though I was good on my scale at home I gained 3 so I want to be safe. Any suggestions on how to drop 3 fast?

Hey Pinkgirl!

I actually did well at my weigh in so that was good. They submitted my paperwork to insurance on 3/18 still waiting... Really hoping I get approval first time around... I feel butterflies in my stomach

I just had the revision three weeks ago and am doing very well. I have lost 20 pounds and am starting the puree food stage. I have no cravings, very little interest in food. I am getting all my Protein, Water, and trying to walk enough. I had horrible diabetes and it went away the next day in the hospital. I went home with no diabetes meds!!

I hand my band to RNY on December 28 as you know...the first 3 weeks was tough because my revision was all in one and the band had done more damage...erosion.etc...I now feel great...no acid reflux ,no pain and no port site issues,no dumping.I feel great.I am losing slowly but steadily.I am ok with all foods. No problems.I actually feel really good.I need to get in the exercise and I struggle with getting my Water intake but I just feel great.Overall....all the hoops and steps to finally get this revision is proving to be definitely worth it....get it done...you will feel so much better!!!!!!

Oh i am so happy to read your story!

I'm having revision from band to bypass on April 19th and i am terrified!

My biggest fear is that i will never be able to est "normal" foods again....like a nice salad or grilled fish or beef. I dont care about large portions...just to have the variety.

Please tell me your experiences with eating now that you are about 4 months post op?

Cant wait to hear your story!

Great.I am losing slowly but steadily with a few stalls.I no longer suffer from all the complications and pain that I had with the band.I no longer have that constant ravenous hunger or the pain and vomiting etc...RNY is allowing me to take control.I am on a high protein...Paleo diet plan....sugar is cut out and I feel so clear headed and wonderful .

I had revision surgery on 2/2/16 and I can eat salads, fish and beef. Some people have a harder time with salads but I have no issues. I can't have sugar, especially something that has sugar and is liquid. Instant horrible nausea. I carry anti-nausea meds with me because I'm never quite sure when my tummy will not agree with what I ate. I'm making much better food choices now and I'm so happy. HW 259, CW 214

Has anyone had second thoughts about getting the surgery done? I'm so afraid of what is going to happen. Do anyone have any advice? I'm doing the bypass

I have not had mine yet just trying to support from someone that is going through it or that has had it done already. You see I have no one to talk to about this.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
