I had my sleeve done on Feb. 11. The morning of surgery I weighed 346 lbs. After surgery, I did well on the clear liquid diet for 2 weeks and went down to 336. Then I felt hungry, and against Dr's suggestions I began trying little bits of things such as cream Soups, sugar free pudding and mashed potatoes. I'm making sure I do my Vitamins, and Protein every day, and I try like hell to get the fluids in me.

My problem is, I haven't lost ANY weight since week 2! Idk how many calories I'm supposed to be eating but I know it's not extreme! I'm walking 30 mins a day weather permitting, and when I can't get outside I dance for 30 mins. I feel like I self sabatoged. I'm feeling very down on myself and don't know how to get back on track.

I've lost 2 1/2 inches off my waist tho?

Use the search box here and search for "3 week stall" "third week stall" or "week 3 stall"

You'll see you haven't messed up, EVERYONE stops losing for a few weeks at three weeks out. Stay off the scale for a couple of weeks.

I am amazed and appalled at how many doctors seem to recommend that their patients eat potatoes (of all things!) but that's a rant for another day, and if your doctor told you to do it, it's not messing up. Unless you are nibbling on potatoes all day long, it didn't cause your weight loss to stop. That happens on its own and is completely normal.

I think that's pretty typical, as the poster above said. Your body basically thinks its starving and so it holds on to the fat because it doesn't know when it will get food again. Once your body quits freaking out and realizes it's not starving, the weight will fall off if you stick to the plan.

However, if you have had issues in the past with self-sabotage, I would deal with that right now so it doesn't become more of an issue down the road when you can tolerate pretty much any food.

As other's have said, it's very common to see a stall on the scale at this point, so it's likely not being caused by the things you are doing wrong. However, that's no excuse not to be sticking to your surgeon and nutritionist's plan for you. You really really really need to stick to the plan. This is your chance to break free of bad habits and establish the healthy new habits that will see you through this process. It's also the time for your stomach to be healing... remember how brutalized it was. Pushing it too far too fast can have SERIOUS health consequences. You need to be very gentle with it like the wounded little baby it is.

Just like everyone else is saying... There is a phenomenon that happens around the 3rd week... Known as the 3 week stall.... I was on it for 2 weeks! Just keep pushing to get Protein and Water in and it will start to come off again! It is very discouraging and I know when you are in that spot at the time you feel like a failure but our bodies just need to be able to catch up sometime! I have stalled several times including all of week 3 and 4 and more! But today I am down into a pair of high school jeans and I'm 2 days away from 3 months post op! I have lost a total of 67lbs and as long as the scale keeps going in the right direction I am going to be happy about it!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
