One month post op

Recommended Posts

I know that everyone loses weight differently, but I'm curious to see what ppl's weight loss was one month post op, with weight day of surgery around 200?i would LOVE to get quite a few responses just so I can not feel alone if I happen to fall at the lower loss of poundage one month into my journey. Thanks to all that continue to give feedback and advice for us newbies that do not have a great support system @ home!! :)

I had my surgery on 1/18/2016, so I too am about 5 weeks out.

My pre op weight was 209.8. I don't know what my surgery weight was but I would estimate somewhere around 200.

My current weight is about 182.5.

I was sleeved on 1/27/16. HW 215 surgery weight 205. Current 191. The three week stall got me but then I had a stomach bug early this week that kicked loss back into gear. I Need to get back to some exercise!

Thank you all for your input! For some reason I need to hear success stories so I don't chicken out! I'm very ready for surgery but am terrified all the same. Congrats on all your losses!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
