Hi! Great idea!

My surgeon doesn't require me to do preop diet. I don't have any kids either. Just busy working on a deadline, and trying to get taxes done. I feel like I should be doing a million other things. But, no time.

How about you? Do the kids known about the surgery?

I don't get Soups :( im keeping my limit under 900 calories a day. I'm doing fairly well so far. I found that taking an acid reducer helps with hunger.... wierd, I know.

I feel like I'm running out of time too! I was told I wouldn't be required to do a pre op cause I'm lower bmi, but I asked for the plan. From what I read the lower your surgery weight more overall % you can lose.

My kids are too young. They don't know. I have one more day of work! I'm getting excited! I have to get though tomorrow. Run a billion errands on saturday. Spend a lazy day with the family on sunday.... then finish packing.

Are yalls out patient?

WOW! That's commitment to start a preop diet early (with out having too). I feel like a life time of change eating is plenty for me ????

You are way ahead of the game if you're resting on Sunday. That sounds wonderful. I am going none stop until Tuesday. I haven't even really done any sleeve related stuff, like shopping for after surgery. I am really nervous because I don't like milk, or yogurt, or cottage cheese. Makes me gag. Not sure how I'll survive! Hopefully it will all work out.

We're all taking the plung together! ???? That's cool! Glad you started this thread

I am starting to get nervous. 10 days on liquids and I am running out of time to get everything done.

Sent from my SM-N910V using BariatricPal

Me too! No liquids (but super nervous) and lots of life stuff to do. Do you know how long we're expected to be down? And do we have physical limitations, carrying stuff etc.?

I'm taking 2 weeks off. I know there's typically a lifting restiction for 6 weeks.

All my work may have been in vain. I wont know for sure until Monday but I may have to reschedule. They JUST TOLD ME today that my EKG was abnormal and I'll need to see a cardiologist first to get clearance for surgery. I have an appointment on Monday morning but if he doesn't clear me that day then I cant have mine done ????????????????

I will I'm kind of freaking cause it will cost me ALOT of money to reschedule. Like a grand. ????

I'm hoping it's nothing serious and he sees all is well on monday morning and let's me leave as planned! I'm trying to keep my mind off it. It's more difficult that I thought, it seems to be all I'm focusing on....

Is it Monday yet?

I can imagine. I'm a nervous wreck without facing the possible reschedule. Prayerfully it's nothing too bad, and he will clear you. Of course, as disappointing as it would be to have to reschedule...you want to be sure your heart is good to go.

I am obsessing on the size of the stomach. I found a paper that looks like it says my doc is only taking 70% out, for some reason I thought it was 85%. What did your doc say?

He said it would be about 80% I think the "%" depends on how bug your stomach is at the time of surgery. Because the stomach is able to stretch it's hard to pinpoint an exact percentage I would think.

Yeah if it's serious, then I would be okay, but I'm pretty sure it isn't serious. I'm 28, lower bmi and 0 history of heart problems.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
