SLEEVED 9FEB16, 7 days in... what to eat?

Recommended Posts

I don't know about potato flakes, but you can use an egg yolk to thicken Soup. Whisk it in a separate cup, then slowly add in a spoonful of the hot liquid while stirring it all the while. Keep adding hot liquid and stirring until the yolk is the same temp as the soup, then add the whole thing back into the soup and keep stirring. You need to stir to avoid scrambling instead of coddling.

My NUT said don't worry about getting in an entire Protein shake (I'm not even to that stage yet) but that 6 to 8 oz. is fine at first.

I was sleeved on the 9th also. I had unsweetened applesauce with a baby spoonful of Peanut Butter for Breakfast, blended black bean Soup for lunch, and homemade potato soup for dinner with Bone Broth. I did have a Protein Shake today, too. I think if you cook the cauliflower really good and blend it up you could have it. I get to have a scrambled egg tomorrow.

How are you doing now 6 mo post surgery?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
